I know that a lot of you have ended auctions early and also some of you have requested other to end their auctions early.I have only done it once and it came back to bite me in the butt.Guy never paid. When I told him I would wait no longer for the money.I relisted the card.He changed his id and won the card for a lot less than what the original price was.Once the hype was gone the interested fell away.Had another person that requested that I end an auction early.Told him I did not like to do that. But he insisted. When I told him my stipulations about ending it early he reported me to eBay for trying to make a deal outside eBay.So for me I have had two bad experiences.
Well there is another offer out there to do this again. Not sure what I should do.I have a fair offer on a card. But I do not want to get burned again nore do I want to get into trouble on the bay. What do some of you guys and gals think.Thanks,Winston.

Simple, throw up a "best offer" option and let him buy it, well that's the most ethical way to do it. If you are trying to save on fees, well then you have a choice to make. If it's a normal card then the fees aren't much anyway.

I think you answered your own question in that you have already been burned twice. 3 and your out.

My 2 ethical cents.

Edit: Not sure if you can add a best offer option on a auction style format, I think it's only for fixed price. I guess I was no help :o

If I did not start the auction with a best offer format can I go back and change it.I believe that i agree with Bossy22.It is wrong and since it has done me twice already I will just stay away from it.Thanks a lot for your advise,Winston.

Winston,

If your auction has no bids, you can go back and change the format from auction style listing to fixed price listing w/ best offer option.

Good luck!
Rob

Winston,
If the item currently has bids, I'd suggest you let it run its course. Sure you'll pay the fees but it's better than some of the results that can come from ending it early. Unless, of course, the offer is impossible to refuse.

Good afternoon Frank. It was a good offer. But I am going to let it run it's course.I got burned a couple times in the past by trying to help people out.So I guess I will not be doing it anymore. The fees do not bother me.Because if they did I would not list stuff on the bay. Thanks a lot for your comments,Winston.
