hey all, my uncle won me an auction for a helm 1/1 last week on ebay.

the bid finshed really high, and after paying for the card, and also receiving it, i decided to log on and see the bid war if you would like.

the seller has 44 feedback, and the only other bidder has 100% bid activity with the seller. obviously it seems like a ton of shilling and i was wondering what steps i could take, if any?

thanks
zack

post a link to the sale, sounds like shilling to me, only thing I could suggest is to call ebay and talk to them about it, if your;e lucky they may review it and decide he was shilling then eliminate all his bids, you could potentially get a partial refund

He bid and won. Obviously, he was willing to spend that amount. No sense complaining over spilled shills after the fact. Bid your max, be prepared to be shilled, that is the new fleabay way of life I think.

my uncle saw it and asked me what the most i would pay for it would be and he plugged it in and it held up. it is a card i definitly want in my pc and i am grateful to have it. i was just shocked to see how only one person bid other then us, and that he only bids on his auctions

i sent in a report so i guess we will see what happens, i will keep you all informed

Yes, that was shilling. Why did you bid it?

Nice hobby isint it, you get shill when you want to buy something, when you sell something the buyer claims he didnt receive is end and you end up giving your cards/money away.

I`ve been watching Landeskog silhouette since there live, and atleast 5 where up for auction twice by the same 5 different sellers.:dizzy:

I preffer BIN`s by far, you enter an amount your confortable paying, otherwise you wait for another one or just shy away.

so i was in contact with ebay about this item, and they have just finished their investigation. they sent me an email thanking me for bringing this to their attention and that the two members are indeed shilling each others bids.

now my next question isbecause it was found that they were wrong doing will i get reimboursed?

as this happened to anyone before?

thanks
zack

Not bloody likely.

It's pretty criminal, they know that there is fraudulent activity, they are making money off it (fee on the shilling).

Actually if they admitted it was a clear-cut case, those bids should be withdrawn, it almost sounds illegal to not cancel them.

You won't get reimbursed. The sellers will simply be penalized, hopefully.

Because you (your uncle) put in the amount, eBay considers you liable for the whole amount, unfortunately.

I'm happy to hear you reported them and also that eBay said something.

I think the fact that you got the card makes you lucky on this one. I did a little hunting through his feedback to see if I could ferret out the shill account. It appears to be legacysportscards2011 They received their last three feedback from the seller but the few transactions prior were negs for non shipping . If ebay did in fact agree that it was shilled I would be all over them to remove all the shill bids and refund you the difference. File a chargeback for item not as described. The card is stained from all the ooze the slimeball was secreting while he packaging it.
