eBay seller questions

Hey all. I was curious about a couple of things. First, does anyone know how the "new" seller discounts work? I see that sellers are eligible for either a 5% or a 20% discount but I'm not sure I understand how this new system works. My feedback subgrades are (5.0,5.0,4.9,4.8) on a 5 pt scale yet I only received a 5% discount on my last invoice. Anyone have any ideas? Also, for all of you sellers, I was wondering what some of your subgrades were.

The requirements for 20% discount (Top-Rated Seller Status) is you must be a PowerSeller with more than 100 transactions in the past 12-months, have at least 4.6 on all DSR categories, and less than 0.50% 1 & 2 ratings for each DSR category.

The last one seems to eliminate a lot of people since all it takes is a handful of idiot buyers or post office snafus if your volume isn't super high.

As a US based seller, they also only take into account your transactions within the United States. My subgrades are 4.99, 4.94, 4.94, 4.85 in 2315 transactions and the highest % of 1 & 2 ratings in any category is 0.26% so I was lucky enough to get the 20% off.

I'm sure they'll change this again at some point in the not too distant future though. That's the way they operate.

Very helpful info for sure... I see what you mean about the new rules though. I would typically get either a 15 or 20% discount under the old rules and now only got a 5% discount iunder the new rules. My subs are the same... Sigh. Freakin' eBay. lol.

Well I lost all my discounts as the new Powersellers is based on Domestic sales only...
since all I sell is hockey.. well most of that is not to USA...
since i lost powerseller that also meant that I lost Top rated seller status... lol

and I think the %discount is also based on Domestic feedback, not overall feedback.

Sorry for stealing the topic a bit, but should I feel ashamed for leaving always rating of 3 for communications when there was nothing to communicate about? Naturally a good conversation with a dealer has to be better than no conversation at all.

If you asked a question and got no reply this would be fair, but if the transaction went smoothly, then you are way out of line IMO.

I just feel like it's more like -2, -1, 0, +1, +2 ie. you start at 3 and whatever you do moves you higher or lower.
