So as most know im building the 06-07 Fleer Ultra patch set and its a pain as these dont surface a lot. Now a Marty Bouder pops and im all over it it but I get out bid. Im not complaining as I have another big card coming up this week and I dont reallywant to over spend.

Seller is a newbie and so that refects my top price of $43.43 plus it was a 1 colour. Any way as the bidding increased I got the feeling someonewas "creeping" my bid up and up so I made the desicion not to fire a higher bid. Any way cut to today and I get a second chance offer what a suprise! Of coure the offer is on my maximum price and the bidder who made theretraction is the only reason this card is not being offered to me for a lot less. Shenanigans? Me thinks so

Of course ebays hidden id policy really helps us with things like this does it not :|

Opinions?

Pete

Edit: I went to look at ebays policy and the buyer must have retracted in the first hour after winning as only his last bid was removed (the one that out bid be) or I would be getting this card for many $$$s less

Second chance offers are always at the level of the highest value of the runner-up bid.

hey farva whats that restaurant u like to go to with all the crazy **** hanging from the ceiling?

that's so friggen awesome. i was thinking the exact same thing just reading the title. go Car-RamRod! :D

as for the auction. you dont' get second chance offer, all of the winning bidders should be nullified so you should be getting the bid above the next highest legitimate bidder (in this case, right above $5.50).

I tried making that argument with eBay when I was shill-bidded on a card a couple months back. The logic fell on deaf ears.

they don't really care. shill bidding actually works in their favor. if they're ever about to go under, i could see them starting up their own shill bidding campaign to raise all final values to charge more fees.
