ebay situation - advice please..

So, I've received lots of cards in white envelopes, but each time they have been well packaged and there has been no issues as far as damage to the card goes.

However, I purchased a nice 3-color Michael Ryder Sweet Stitches card with the 3 jersey swatch windows from jdrysdale. Sure enough, the card came in a plain white envelope and there are creases between and around the jersey swatches. :curse: It is a low value card and I bought the card for my PC. What should I do? Normally I would contact the seller but obviously in this case there is little chance of this guy responding. Should I just leave a positive and be happy that the card showed up given the seller's reputation, or would you leave different feedback? $3.50 S&H.

Opinions and advice welcome!

For $3.50 shipping, he can afford a bubble mailer. It's a joke and he's done this to too many people. Negative feedback should be left at the very least.
 
jdrysdale does not have the best reputation, and you likely will not get a response, but I would try and contact him first before leaving a neg. If he does not respond, or says "go away", then leave a neg. It's on him to make sure your item arrives safely. It's such an easy thing to do, but the fact is...THIS GUY DOS NOT CARE! He works on volume, and unfortunately, another negative won't do him much damage. I mean, I don't know where his fb %age is now, but the guy still sells and sells and sells.

This is probably the tenth thread I have seen on him in the past year (here and on Beckett).
 
Thanks for your comments, and for the link to other thread about this guy.

I've decided to do what fly4apuckguy suggested. I sent a message saying that there were creases between and around the jersey swatches, and that I would have expected him to ship the card securely enough to avoid damage. If he doesn't respond after a few days, or if I get a "Go away", I'll leave a neg. I've never left a neg for a seller before, and I have over 1000 feedback on ebay. I guess it's time to leave one.
 
A couple notes..

...definitely ask why and leave neg if you're not happy, but

...i've pulled about a half dozen jersey cards from packs that have showed signs of creasing around the jersey area (just little creases, mind you)

...i'd be worried if there were heavy marks around the jersey that he duped in your 3 color patch to replace something more bland, isn't this a sign of tampering?

From what I understood from the OP, It's a simple jersey card from Sweet Shot (which has 3 jersey windows in the Sweet Stitches jersey set), and all three windows are a different colour. If this is the case, tampering is very unlikely in this situation.
 
Honestly, the only way I think this will stop is if everyone leaves negatives whether cards that arrive in pwe's are damaged or not. Generally the cards aren't that high end, so filing a Not As Described dispute isn't worth it as the cost of sending the card back with proof of delivery is more than what was paid for the card. It clearly states in eBay policy that all sellers are to send items will appropriate packaging that keep the item well protected. If they changed the policy so that the seller was responsible for sending the card back (since it is their negligence that resulted in the damage) I think the process would work better. Ebay could also set some sort of packaging requirement for stuff.

No lie I never read that clearly enough when I first posted, but that being said... isn't it possible that with 3 colored pieces that it was initially 3 white or 3 black or whatever?

From what I can gather, people have the ability to remove layers of cards (!?!?!) reglue, fix damage, etc. I've read this on posts on the board. I have no idea how the jersey switching is done though, so maybe I am missing something, but anytime I see a card with creases around the window, I'm skeptical it wasn't tampered with somehow.

A person would is a jerk and a thief if they tamper with a card. He'd be downright insane to do it with a Michael Ryder card. Why risk your career and reputation on a Michael Ryder card (no offence to Ryder fans/collectors out there).

I have opened pack with creases around the window on a few occasions, usually when I have purchased "hot packs" on eBay (dumb, I know). It could be a manufacturing flaw, but more likely it is a result of someone searching packs for jersey or patch hits. They bend the packs to test for cards with thicker card stock.
 
No doubt if you're doing it to a ryder, that's pretty sad. But if you've got the ability to do it, why not do it to everything you're selling to optimize your profit? I think it's dirty, but I wouldn't trust anyone with the ability to not do it to everything. 3 colored patches will get more than 2 or 1 respectively.

Anyway, I've pack pulled cards with creases around the window before too, manufacturers flaws. I won't sell the card even though I don't really want it because I feel that anyone who sees it will assume tampering of some sort. I was just saying it's kinda sketchy is all :)
