Edmonton - Westmount Card Show - 24 - 25 Sept

I may be in Edmonton for the upcoming long weekend and I see there is a card show :dance:

Any comments on the quality recently? Is it just inside the mall, along the corridors or is it in an actual show room? Traditionally, is the quality of vendors better or worse during a holiday weekend? I can see it going either way. Any HI members going/setting up?

Who am I kidding?! Unless I hear it really, really sucks, I will likely pop in and get my card fix :)
 
I've set up there a couple times over the years. It's right in a side corridor of the mall, and there's usually been a range of 10-20 vendors. Selection is varied, there is always those one or two old guys who think Pro Set base cards are worth $5 each, but I've found nice things while attending, and made decent money while selling.

Go on the Saturday though. Traffic through there on the Sunday is next to non-existent, and some of the vendors do not return for the Sunday knowing that the traffic is slower.

Also, watch out for thieves. Some like to take advantage of the open spaces of the show to swipe stuff.

If you're here though, make sure to check out Wayne's Sports Cards, and West's Sports Cards. There's also one called "Georges II" in Sherwood Park that was quite nice, with a way different selection.

Thanks for the tips! I will be staying in Sherwood Park and I visited Georges II last time I was out there. They had the largest stack of Series 1 cases I've ever seen! It was insane. Wayne's is great and I haven't been to West's yet. That may change next weekend :-)
 
Westmount is absolutely worth the time to check out. It is our small monthly show. Sadly I wont be there, going fishing and camping. If you are here on the Thursday let meet up for a beer and Wings.

Hey, that's awesome. Thanks for the tip on the Calendar -- I didn't notice that link (or did notice it ages ago and forgot about it!). I'll be sure to use it from now on. :)
 
Should be there Saturday morning. Looking forward to it!

Where is it in Westmount...? I know the mall isn't that big, but...... :p
