Was very excited to see that Francis was on a quad booklet with Lemieux, Jagr and Coffey... but obviously will not be picking it up now ...

Yes it's Kevin Stevens, while he wasn't a bad player, it's pretty much treason to picture Kevin Stevens as Francis. Francis was all class, Stevens, not so much.

What Pete said! :|

Dammit James, our guy has been disrespected! We should not stand for this :foottap:

wow...major fail

I dont understand how something like that can happen...being that they go through a long process in order to get made. Qa...initial design...design review...test sheets at the printer...etc....should have been caught long before the final printing and insertion of memorabilia. It makes it a lot worse that its on a tough/big money pull from a high-end product.

I bet some Stevens collectors are amped though..ha

But Im sure Panini will come up with an excuse...like last night when during the cnc group break of Dominion on blogtv where Vegaspuck said (in regards to the card below and Im paraphrasing)

"when you QA 100,000 cards in 2 days..some things slip through the cracks"

I wouldnt want to hear that about a 1 of 1 card i pulled

We apologize for the error. This should've been caught months before the card was built. Either from one of our teams or from the League when we send the card images for approvals.

As for the other swatch error. It does happen. We corrected at least 1,000 cards with damage and misplaced swatches during the QC process. The cards were remade when possible or pulled from the product. I understand the frustration you have from seeing an error. We'd like to be perfect, but unfortunately we aren't.

In order to make sure the product was on the shelf for you in time, we were under a strict deadline. The five of us that QC'd the cards did the best we could under those time constraints and yes, a few errors were probably missed. Our team worked weekends and up to 16 hour days to do the entire QC process and pack out. Unfortunately, no one sees the errors that were found and fixed either at the QC or months prior to the QC during the card building process. So ultimately we're left with collectors thinking we don't care about the errors. Like I said, we strive for perfection, but we weren't.

We aren't the only ones that have these challenges. I know other card companies that produce the same quantities of cards like Topps and UD also experience the same type of memorabilia mixups and photo errors. We're not perfect...but we're going to try to improve after each product. We'll learn from this mistake and move forward.

We will also attempt to fix any errors we make. I've already spoken to the owner of the quad 1/1 and directed him to our CS department to see if the card can be reprinted and fixed with swatches in the correct spot. Anyone that pulls the Quad Peerless is free to return the card to us, and we will replace the card with a more than suitable replacement for our error.

Thanks, and apologies again for our mistake.

Thanks for the response Vegas and thanks for the insight to the goings on in regards to these mishaps.

I agree no one/company is perfect but its nice to see that Panini is making strides in doing right by the customer and to learn from their mistakes.

Well done.

Agreed. When mistakes like these are made, it`s nice to see them rectified ASAP. Kudos to Chris for responding to the matter so quickly

A special thanks to Vegas for owning up for this, thought I doubt he or Karvin are to blame, I was just saddened to see a card I was very much looking forward to owning have that mistake on it...

The good news is this will help Dominion be a bit lighter on the wallet ;)

Stuff like this happens all the time, some we notice and pick up on and there is much more that we do not even notice.

at least there was a responce to this issue much more than i can say about some other card company, and i am sure that who ever pulls those cards will get something very nice in return, thats something else another card company is not doing for their mistakes.

It's virtually impossible to notice unless it's a card featuring players on different teams. That's only a small percentage of memorabilia cards, so who knows.
