Someone is trying to trade me an autograph card from the 1992 Classic set.

He say: “this card comes from the Certified Autographed series

I made a research on Beckett about those and only three are list - and none of them is the player we are talking about (Dave Karpa).

Beckett precise that this set may contain more than the three cards that are list.

From what I have seen, the cards looks exactly like the 1992 Classic base set, except that they feature an hard sign auto.

Could this card have been auto in person and this guy is trying to sell/trade it as part of the Certified Autographed serie?

Do someone know more about this set.

There is indeed a certified autgraph card of Mr. Karpa from the 92/93 Classic Draft Picks set. I used to own a couple from the set and if I'm not mistaken on the back of the card there should be a certification of authenticity.

I've got a few cards from that same set and found a Lemieux auto card hand numbered out of 2000 on the front of the card. The back of the card states: "Congratulations. You have just received this extremely Limited Classic Autograph Card." and that's all it says on the back. There's a logo on the front of the card that says: "Classic 1992 Draft Picks". Hope this helps you out.

They do in fact exist. I picked up a lot on ebay awhile ago because it had a David Wilkie in it that I wanted. I remember looking into it and in one of my old Becketts it said that they knew they existsed, but didn't have a checklist for it.

I'm pretty sure most of the cards (if not all) have an autographed version. I have considered putting the set together at times, but have been too lazy to pursue it (plus I have enough projects on my plate).
