I've been keeping a low profile lately, occupied by other things outside the world of cards.
With the Expo however I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge some great help on the collection by some HI people.
But... before all that got underway I opened some cheap wax for fun while at the expo.
2 Boxes of 1997-98 Pinnacle Mint collection yielded the following:
- a complete set of cards with holes in them as well as the bronze base set without the holes.
- Silver Mint team Lindros and Messier
- a few short of the medallion set, terrible collation here, who needs 6 Brett Hull's?
I also cracked a box of 1997-98 Donruss Studio and got myself:
- an 8x10 Brian Leetch Silhouette
- a Hard Hats Brett Hull (he was haunting me yesterday)
- Silver Press Proofs of Kirk McLean and John Vanbiesbrouck (yikes, and double yikes)
Lastly for wax I broke a box of Beehive since the price as others have mentioned was quite good.
- Beige Kolzig
- Blue: 124 Yann Denis, 128 Andrej Meszaros and 148 Chris Campoli
- Red: 24 Tanguay, 42 Roenick, 52 Brodeur, 83 Sundin, 84 Belfour, 102 Ovechkin, 106 Brule, 119 Howard, 130 Rene Bourque, 136 Prucha
- Matted Materials: Marc Denis, Marty Turco and Todd Bertuzzi
- Beehive Rookies: 91 Bochenski and 172 Polak
If anything interests you, I will listen to offers, although strong preference given to those which offer to replenish my poor, empty wallet.
Onto purchases...
They were limited in number but some nice cards for the collection:
First I picked these up at Martin Sports Cards since the price was right:
Honestly, for $8 and $5 respectively I saw no reason not to upgrade my current ones.
From No No No the other Steve, I picked up the following:
Cory (Will-411) gave me a nice deal on this one I've wanted for a while:
Thanks very much gentlemen, great dealing with you.
And last and certainly not least, he of the not so hideous shirt this time around, Quincy gave me a nice deal and great payment schedule
on this:
That would be the gold 1/1 emblem.
Thanks very much Steve, great doing business with you as usual and hopefully I'll catch you again next expo.
I can't top that for an ending, so I won't... thanks for reading.
