I'm all for a few throw-ins when cards are won off eBay or bought/traded... but my pet peeve today is this: I got a nice Cam Ward and got two throw-ins... BASEBALL throw-ins?!?! I HATE baseball... if it was the LAST sport on earth and I was forced to watch it, I'd have more fun putting my nuts in a vice and squeezing!!

Anyways... so what kinda bonehead sends baseball cards with a hockey card? Obviously I'm a hockey collector or at least a Ward collector... even some 90/91 Pro-Set would've been better than this crap! What the heck am I supposed to do with these two cards now? One actually seems pretty decent - 1981 OPC Jim Palmer in near-mint, and the other is a 2002 SP Authentic Pat Burrell (who?). Oh well... suppose I could keep them by the toilet for those days the TP runs out. :p

Just venting... frickin' baseball...

Disclaimer: The preceeding message post was written by the undersigned collector but in no way has is it been endorsed by Hobby Insider, MLB, NHL, TSN, M&Ms, KLM or the Queen, and is not meant to insult, disparage or demean baseball (yuck ) collectors, the MLB or any other nutbar who would waste their time on such tripe...:o eerrrrrrr... on behalf of the undersigned, we apologize in advance and in earnest to those of you offended.

Disclaimer to the Disclaimer: If you're offended, good lord... GET OUT MORE! :D

I can't believe you are complaining about something free. I'm not offended, I guess it just goes to show people really will complain about everything.

Does the phrase "tongue-in-cheek" mean anything to you?
I dunno... that was an awful lot of typing for someone to do with tongue lodged in cheek, if ya ask me. Add all the smileys you want, sure did sound like your knickers were in a twist over getting baseball extras.

I hate baseball just as much, possibly more. But I normally see anything given to me for free (unless it's a kick to the junk or some rotten food) as very generous and thoughtful, even if I don't like it.

why not just toss them in as extras next time you trade with someone that might like baseball?

Some people mistake throw ins for cards that are used to protect the actual card purchased! I always send other cards surrounding the purchased card and sometimes get a reply saying thanks for the throw ins!! I mean come on, cant people tell that the cards are just there as fillers when the casing is too big! Might not be your specific case but I get it all the time. THERE NOT THROW INS JUST FILLERS.

Hmmmmm... okay, it seems that when I typed out this post it was a lot funnier (or at least in my head) than apparently it's come across here. Soooo... to clarify... yes, I LOVE getting free stuff (I'm a Scotsman - cheap and happy for freebies all the time)... yes, I also like to send "throw-ins" along periodically (ask Nick2317 when he gets his cards)... and yes, I'm a sarcastic ninny it seems.

I don't like baseball... that's obvious from my post... but I do appreciate freebies... I just have too many baseball cards and as a West-Coast Canadian, don't have a clue what to do with them.

Bruce, I like baseball and I LOVE the New York Mets, been a die-hard fan for the better part of my life, well over 25 years now.

Can we still be friends?:p ;) :D
