This card here was sold on ebay on August 1st to mymymaude for $1,225.

Now today, this auction appears on ebay with this card for sale:

Pretty sad that this is being done with such a high end product. I would think that Upper Deck should have a way of authenticating the cards so that they can not be screwed around with

Someone probably pulled the patch out of a lower end penguins RC such as letang or noah welch... that is if they are in the auto patch set.

No. In my first message to him I asked him to confirm the number as 50/99 which he did, then I asked him if he altered the patch or if he acquired it already altered. No response yet. I'll email him the scan shortly.

i sent him one too.. and told him if he did not respond in 24 hours i would be contacting the authorities

im considering the buy it now to get it off.. and see if he persues when i dont pay

Scares me away

With the upscale cards comes the criminals wanting to cash in. This incedent, once again and unfortunatley, keeps me from pursuing very high-end cards from strangers.
If this is an UD screw-up they should be called-out. If it's a forger then he should be charged by the police. They would have several charges for a sale that high.

also remember people are sending their 1 colored patches to Upper Deck damaged and are rolling the dice so they can get a replacement with better patches!! Maybe some should contact UD to see if this card was just in for repalcement!!

I dont think this one was replaced. If you look at the signatures they are in the same spot and look the same. If they replaced the card the sig would be diffrent.

It's really disappointing to see that the hobby has reached this level.

Definitely good to see that your on our side, Jeremy. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that appreciates all your hard detective work ! As I'd be upset if I bought a fake or altered patch. Keep up the great work, fella'

Ya , that is definatly as fake as it comes....the auo is exactly the same...EXACTLY....as a high end Pens collector it disapoints me to see some scum bag ruining a gorgeous rookie.......tisk tisk
