Fake patch Peter Mueller Cup RC card

Just a heads up for anyone considering buying this card:

2007/08 Peter Mueller The Cup ARP 108/249

The original card is this:

I know the seller has no idea the card is repatched. This card was sold repatched once before on the bay.

This is just beyond stupid.....I no longer trust anything on Ebay....so many crooked sellers now.....GREED GREED GREED.... This hobby has gone by the wayside.....

I'm skeptical aswell..been looking for a carter or vanek cup rc..and getting discouraged. Has anyone dealt with that seller?? He has like the top 40 cup rcs....all are sick patches...

I've noticed he's been buying up these cards for the past year. He's bid on some of mine in the past. I'm not sure why he's decided to unload a lot of them now. I've dealt with the seller before and have nothing but good things to say. It's unfortunate he unknowingly purchased this repatched card from the bay.

I think it goes without saying at this point that anything he is selling is questionable at best.... With proof like the above post you'd be crazy to touch any of his cards with a ten foot pole....wned:

i wouldn't buy anything the cup unless it's in person(card show, flee market, hobbyshop, lcs,etc...)

Thanks for the post, I probably would have looked into that card.
Where did the white swatch scan come from? I'm tempted to message him and see what he says. It really hurts the collector that old auctions drop off the ebay site after 60 days or something like that.

I already have the #/88 copy, but it's a little plain. This is really starting to turn me off. I have some very nice swatches and now wonder if I ever go to trade/sell them, would I run into the same skepticism? If you can get it right as it comes out, might have a better chance. I'd still prefer to bust products and see what falls out. I decided to spend my $$ on a Rookie gamer instead of more Mueller Cup RC.

i remember seeing that patch before...its sad this is going on....ud will have to take pictures of the uncut rc auto sheets before they are packed out in the future. They wanna continue to have this product do well...

I notified the seller and he said he bought it as is on ebay and wanted to see a scan of the original. I haven't been following these Muellers as I got one already.

If the seller is an innocent victim here then what recourse does he have? I guess he is out of luck and ends up being a sucker. Or I guess he can relist the card and specify that the patch has been "enhenced" and see how that goes.

It's a bit late, but I can vouch for the fact that 3 of the 4 Shane O'briens were bought on eBay from other sellers and the scans he provides in his listing match the scans I have on file.

I have followed this member for the past year because he bids on many of the cards that I do and he has bid on some of my own cards. I know for a fact that all of his cards have the same patches as when he won them on ebay.

This thread was meant to make people aware that his Mueller Cup card was repatched (unknown to him) and not to accuse the seller of altering any cards himself.
