How many of the counterfeit jerseys are on our 2 dollars jersey cards?
I have an idea for Upper Deck...15-16 Upper Deck Game Dated.
All the jersey cards would have the official date the guy played the game with. Ideally with the picture of the game. Of course, these won't be found in every boxes.
Same thing can apply to live signatures...with a date stamp!
 
Fake autos will likely be addressed; but I wonder if they're going to talk about patch faking too. Should be an interesting watch.

Ive seen many fake jerseys for sale at the EXPO last time I was there. Some where even signed. I didnt look at the signature closely, as I wouldnt have bought it anyway for the fact the jersey was a counterfeit.



Back on topic, this looks to be a good watch. I will have to try and watch it.
 
I just saw the special on fake autographs. They where at the toronto expo with fake Bower and Ted Lindsay autos done by a art student. The fakes where all authenticated by AJs Sportsworld, KSA, and Spence. AJs was the only one that declined comment after the fact. Not good!!
 
Just watched the first segment. On auto fakes. Not shocking to hear. So hard to know who to trust. My sacred autos were obtained in person. Certainly worth the watch and eye opening for many part time collectors.

I wonder if they're aware that's happened. Years ago with banned a patch faker from attending the show. He wasn't a dealer. We actually banned him from being an attendee.

Looking forward to seeing all 3 parts on Saturday.

To be fair, AJs has commented that it was an error and they are improving their process. Keep in mind, they are not authenticators and the holograms are for IN PERSON signed items at their store or the Expo. Also note that they receive no payment for the application of the hologram.

In the case of authenticators, also note that you are paying for an opinion that an autograph is authentic.

Interesting watch on Part 1. Ted Lindsay's comment at the end is hilarious. A lot of this is generally geared towards the layman though. I don't usually go to the game, so Part 2 didn't really resonate. Looking forward to part 3 through.

I'm watching the full W5 program right now and am impressed that during the fake jersey segment they actually went all the way to China where a huge number of "not authentic" jerseys are made/sold.

Overall a very interesting show.
 
Wow they are even going as far as adding Meigray tags saying they are game worn. Insane.


The quality from authentic over counterfeit way better. Ive seen both up close. It is worth it to pay the extra and get an authentic pro/replica jersey. If you take your time, you can probably find a jersey you want for less.
I picked up my authentic Roy AVS jersey, with stitched name, numbers etc... for i think $100 shipped.
