I'm planning a trip with the family to Fall Expo this year, I'm coming from the states so would it be recommended to get money converted to Canadian, just stick with American dollars, or just use a card for purchases?

Get canadian cash. The conversion rate (at the moment, at least) is extremely in our favor. It's been a while since I've gone to one, but very few accepted cards.

Yup, I would say 99% of the sellers there will be dealing is CDN so why not take advantage of the exchange rate. There will, as was said above, be very few that have a machine to use your card at.

And for the few that take cards they might charge you tax and more to cost to cover fees whereas you will get better prices and no tax added with a cash transaction.
