Fall Expo Question

I am planning on attending the Fall Expo this year and am trying to decide if I will go Friday or Saturday. I am wondering what your thoughts are for those who have gone on a Friday vs. on a Saturday. I would be interested in your opinions. Also, are most booths ready to go right at noon on Friday?

Friday gives you both a better selection and more elbow room. Saturday is typically a zoo. The dealers will all be there.

You laugh but I agree. My best days a lot of years are Fridays from other dealers. At the end of the day most dealers are weekend warriors like the rest of us.

From my experience, I would say go on Saturday. Dealers are less willing to negotiate on Friday since the show just started. Box prices also start to come down on Saturday if you like to break wax.

Friday. When the Expo opens on Friday afternoon, A LOT of people are still at work and it won't pick up until late afternoon (4pm) if it picks up at all. The aisles are not as busy as a weekend would be and the dealers' showcases are still well stocked.

Friday. Lots to see and do, plenty of time to do it, nowhere near the circus that saturday brings.

I agree with Friday, best selection not as crowded. Best deals are on Sunday but it's picked over by then too.

As others have hinted at, it depends on what you are looking for.

If you are looking for something specific that is low print run or very hard to find, best to go on Friday when all of the inventory is available, and you have more time to talk to the dealers and haggle. If you're looking for deals, and not too picky about what you buy, Sunday is a great day. If you're looking to sell cards, that can be trickier on Friday for some dealers as they may not yet want to or be in a position to make a cash outlay.

If you're just going for the experience, kick some tires and look around, meet up with a few people, I'd say Friday is the least stressful day to go.

Friday is by far the best. You have way more time to talk with dealers on Fridays. Saturdays are insane. I'm a dealer and I actually prefer to buy on Friday too as it gives me the rest of the weekend to sell some of it.

I agree if you can go on the Friday, it's much more relaxing and a lot more inventory available. If you can get there when it opens that's ideal.
