Spring Expo has come and gone, but do you think the Fall Toronto Expo happens? I say yes with safety measures and vaccine proof before entering.

I say no. There are too many unknowns between then and now, and it's not something that can be planned at the drop of a hat. I'd say spring 2022 is the target to be back on schedule.

And do we really want to go to a system that requires us to carry papers around to gain access to public events? The court system would be tied up for years with human rights cases of discrimination.

Possible but very unlikely to me. It'd be cutting things really close to get it done for the Fall. That's also assuming vaccination targets are met and there aren't any worse outbreaks, which given Ontario's history so far seems a little optimistic. I know there was a show planned for Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia I think?) but it got cancelled because of an outbreak again. It's just really, really hard to plan something bigger like the Expo with the cloud of uncertainty overhead.

Spring 2022 would be a better target like Cory said, would allow the event to be planned better, better participation, and possibly more travel from out of province. I've never been to an Expo yet but I assume there's lots of Americans who usually come and it's unlikely they'd be able to come in the Fall still. Whenever it does happen I'll make it a goal to go! Would love to meet HI people in person at an Expo.

Not a chance.

Big events like this just can't happen until the vast majority of the population have had the chance to get vaccinated. The uproar would be too immense otherwise.

I doubt it. Get your covid vaccination reports ready whenever they do. If you wear a tinfoil hat, congrats....you attended final last Expo a few years ago.

The concept of a COVID passport is attractive...and problematic. The last thing we need at this time is another point of fracture. This has enormous potential on both sides of the ledger.

I suspect Spring 22 at the earliest as well.

No way, as not enough people under 60 will be fully vaccinated by then. We get to watch the USA have a full year of the really big shows before they return to Canada.

I'll toss in a maybe, maybe some sort of fall Expo happens. I doubt there will be autograph guests, but maybe a big show spread out at the convention centre could happen, even as late as the first week of Dec. (more of a winter Expo). Hopefully at least some of the smaller shows start in September.

No way, Canada is substantially behind on their vaccination process unfortunately and that will be the key, vaccinated versus unvaccinated. Maybe they pull off a miracle and ramp it up, but I doubt it. Spring 2022 it is!

Have you seen what the covid numbers are like in Ontario right now? They are at an all time high. Plus with the new variants it is effecting the younger population even more than ever. I work in an emergency department at a hospital. It sucks that we have this lockdown right now but I can tell you first hand that covid is real. I don’t want to see mass public gatherings for a long time yet.

First of all, fist bump (I've been fully vaccinated since early January) from a fellow frontline healthcare worker, thank you for all you're doing, its a wild time!

The variants are intriguing, but I feel the vaccinations will help immensely. I've seen our numbers fluctuate, but seem to have settled in a tad now as we rollout the vaccine more and more. We are up to about 30% of the population in the US versus 2% in Canada; that'll definitely strain your EMS system up there. We are very thankful for POTUS Trump pushing this vaccine development and rollout HARD. He did that right at least. Hang in there!

Yeah, gonna ask for a source on that as well. Most recent info on their website is in regards to the 2020 Fall Virtual Expo. The FB page is even more out of date.

I am going to be positive and say it has a 50% chance. I know there are issues with vaccinations in Canada and getting shots in arms is the key. But I think the summer will be the decider if enough vaccines can get out to folks (and maybe that would allow enough time for fall Expo plans to work out). Hopefully, the US will continue to release more of its vaccine stock to its neighbors. I think we ordered 1.3 billion doses. Our rollout in the Dc area of Virginia wasn't the smoothest. A month ago, I couldn't find an appointment anywhere, then all of a sudden the floodgates opened and there were appointments everywhere. It was just announced that our local expo will be a go on May 21st with a 1,000 person capacity limit.
What I am really waiting on is the announcement for The National which is due the beginning of June.
I guess what I am sayiong is that things can turn around quickly- if enough people can (and will) get vaccinated...
