I have been getting alot of PM's from members with general comic questions. I thought it might be best if I start a thread to deal with them since alot of them are similar questions. If you have a question on a character, title, issue, 1st app etc feel free to post it here. I am still more then happy to answer any and all PM's but I though a general question thread might serve the entire community better.

Golden/Silver/Bronze/Modern ages - appx start/end dates
General rule used in the hobby. Some sites and dealers slightly adjust the years, however the list below is a rough random timeline used by most collectors.

Golden 1930-1960
Silverage 1960-1970
Bronze 1970-1980

Grading is usually done with the ONE and OWL method. One is Overstreet Numerical Equivalent and OWL is Overstreet Whiteness Level. The One system is a basic numbering system (listed below). The Owl method is for testing the color whiteness of the comic and is a color card that you place on the comic and match the closest color.
Similar to using BGS or PSA numbers when grading cards.
