Well, Mike made his retirement official on Friday. It's a sad day, but I hope that means we won't ever see him in a red jersey again wned: I haven't seen a tribute thread yet, so I thought I'd get the ball rolling. Here are 9 of my favourites:

It was indeed a sad day around here. I never collected his cards, but I spent a lot of time at the practice facility when I was playing hockey so I have a ton of his autos. Here are a few of my favorites:

Nice to see Modano retire with the same class that he played the game. It seems like yesterday (figuratively speaking) that his Upper Deck RC was flying off the shelves for $5 a card. That RC with his arms up is one of my faves from 90-91 UD. Hard to believe the boom started 20 years ago already.

Hopefully we will see him around as a broadcaster for many years.

Modano holds a special place in the hobby for me. Even though I never collected his stuff, he will always be "the guy who went ahead of Trevor in the draft". Whenever I would see one do something, win something or get something in the hobby (a jersey card or auto card, etc.) I would always see if the same would follow for the other.

They were both very similar in so many ways and yet so different in others.

Sad to see him leave the game, but glad to see him walk away wearing the green.

This is all that I have right now.
