Fedor Emelianenko Finalizing Deal With The UFC

After reading that the Fedor/UFC deal included M-1 Global wanting to co-promote with the UFC, I could care less if Fedor is in the UFC or not. That would be a terrible deal if I were in the UFC's shoes.

Besides, we got lots of up-and-coming heavyweights, along with the TUF Heavyweights season.

Fedor apparently not offered 5 fight 30 million dollar deal; but as the article states the UFC did say that Fedor would be allowed to continue to fight in Sambo competitions, but apparently the main thing so far as M-1 is concerned is co-promotion and I don't think that that's going to happen.

If Fedor goes somewhere else his legacy will likely suffer because there will be many potential big fights, and top heavyweights that he will never have fought and he will open himself up to criticism that he didn't fight many of the top heavyweights that were around.

With all due respect, I don't think Fedor's legacy will ever suffer. Also of the top 10 ranked HW fighters, maybe 4 - 5 are in the UFC. Fedor has already beat Nogueira, and Couture is all but retired, and not a good match for Fedor anymore. Granted Brock is an intriguing fight, but everyone else is cannon fodder for Fedor.

Fedor's best fight is still Barnett which could theoretically still take place in Japan.

You're right everyone, with the possible exception of Lesnar would likely be cannon fodder. The problem is that over the past four years he's fought 3 top 10 heavyweights; and two of them were in his last two fights. He went three years without facing a top level opponent. There's a reason that a lot of people see him as number 3 in the pound for pound rankings; and he could keep dropping because the other top fighters are beating the top guys in their weight class; you can't necessarily say that about Fedor. A lot of people no longer see him as the most dominant fighter in the world anymore, and that is because he is putting himself in the position to take that criticism. And while you're right only 4-6 of the top 10 heavyweights in the world are in the UFC 2-5 or 3-6 (depending on what you do with the roidhead) are in the UFC; personally I would rather see Fedor fight any of Brock, Frank, Randy, or Nogueira (again see if he can actually finish him) than seeing him fight Rogers, Arlovski, Overeem, or Barnett; (in the words of Dennis Miller) that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I think now the only way we are going to see the biggest fight in MMA history is White giving in and giving Fedor a one fight deal with no title on the line.

I hope this deal gets done sooner rather than later. Fedor is the best heavy-weight, and as the best he want to fight the best. The rest of the best are UFC fighters fighting in the UFC. With a lot of focus being put on this season of TUF and the arrival of Kimbo Slice, mix that with the outta nowhere super star Brock Lesnar hype and there is no time like the prenst for Fedor to make his mark. I wanna see Fedor and Mir!!!
