UD replied to me on Twitter stating that final print run info will not be revealed. Disappointed in that...

I ended up grabbing 2 copies of each. We'll see in the long run how well these do.

Thanks for posting this. It makes my decision easier to stay away. I may buy a few here and there but will not go big into it.

The only way this works is stated print run.

I have bought a ton of Topps Now and Panini Instant. SP's of the set sell for good money and it is the only way people buy the Matt Martin's of the world hoping for a SP in the set.

Upper Deck dropped the ball (or missed the net) again as usual. They go so far but not enough to make something really great, just eh.

You can see the current print run if you start a blank trade. I guess you could check just before the weekly pack expires. That's as close to actual print run info as we'll get.

I have looked at this....it is helpful but you don't know how many people have locked their cards. You are right will give a rough print run number.

Only problem is 6 months-1 year down the road will anyone remember? Doubt it.
 
Not sure if UD reads the boards, but to add to this, it is only hurting UD by not doing it.

Lets say Matt Martin goes off for 2 hat tricks in one week. At this point I would not buy the card.

If they stated print runs I might think hmmmm this could be a SP I better buy one. Trade value and monetary value could be big down the road.

Case in point anyone remember etopps and Tony Banks? It was the SP of the football set and sold for crazy money back in the day!

More recently someone like Khris Davis from the A's Topps Now...SP and sells for $38...no one would care about Khris Davis if the print run wasn't stated.

C'mon UD do the right thing and list print runs...make this program great! It is not that hard! It is only helping your sales...
 
If we could get a thread going and somehow "track" a rough print run, that could give us a ballpark at least? Plus incoming collectors may appreciate that info too. It's not perfect, but it's something. But yeah, UD should definitely state these print runs.
 
I don't like that you can decide which pack/card you're buying...would've liked it more it was a random card of the 4...no one will trade these if you could just buy the one you want.

This is what I'd like to see too. Didn't make sense to me to just buy what you want. I just hope they'll change it with the future to make it random.

Just my opinion, but I like the fact it is not random. At $3.99 a pack I like knowing I won't have to buy multiple packs to get the one I want. If price point was lower, I'd have no problem with random though.
 
I had to lock the ovechkin I bought because I'm getting offered compendium base cards for it.
It will be interesting to see when they go live what price they go for on COMC.

Honestly don't get your hopes up they are going to sell for a lot.

I am using Topps Now as a guide and baseball is way more popular. Most Topps Now of star players can still be had for at or under cost. Of course there always exceptions but not many.

Don't even look at Panini Instant of the star players they can be had way under cost and most print under 100...crazy. No one seems to care about that program all that much.

The first few might do OK but after that I can't see them going for much more then $3-$5. Some of the rookies maybe if they are short prints...since UD will not state print run we will never know anyway.

If it's like every other easily-accessible ePack card on COMC, there will be lots of $0.30 and $0.31 listings in a matters of week. UD has really found a way to make people turn $4 into a nickel.

that's the thing I don't understand, because you know what you are getting, it only makes sense to me if I'm purchasing the card that its going into my PC. I guess we will find out in a couple weeks.

Yeah but we're sensible people. I was hoping for a Drouin commemorating that shootout winner. No dice. I'll get the Habs stuff throughout the season as they arise but I won't be doing any "semi-PC' pickups.
