I'm not surprised Calgary dealt a defenceman. Hamrlik's an upgrade over Lydman, and this clears room for Phaneuf to make the roster out of training camp. Buffalo didn't exactly have to break the bank or dip into the prospect pool to get Lydman, so it works for them as well.

I thought Lydman was a great d-man. Kinda fragile tho'.
