Quincey is in for Lebda, Krahn for McLennan.

Let's hope both teams stick to business and the refs do their job, too.

1 period down, only 1 casualty - Giordano took a Schneider slapper to the head. Lotsa blood. Decent period, but I hope both teams pick it up a bit.

1-0 Flames. Great shot from just above the hashmarks by Iggy, caught Hasek sitting on the goalline.. Flames are carrying the play....for now....

Before the series started a buddy told me the Wings would sweep---I said this series is going 7...looking like the Flames are going to take it to a game 7. So far tonight the Flames are playing better imo. Great series!!!

4 minutes left in the 2nd, shots are 23-11 for Detroit, but I think its fair to say Calgary has had more and better chances.

Nice to see the refs are letting them play, and for the most part, the players are making it easy for them.

Will it end in the third?

Game will not go to overtime I believe.
Flames have looked better for almost 35 minutes.

However - I think it is part of Detroit's plan to make the Flames depleted defense - absorb both hard hits and lots of skating. The Wings picked up the hitting noticably in the last 5 minutes of the period. Great up-and-down action.
The hitting is what won it in game 5 for detroit - and I think they will turn it up a notch in the 3rd.

The league also sent a message by having 2 ULTRA veteran referees - as well as mandating that if you touched the goalies you were going to the box. Both Kipper and Dom are BOTH honing their acting skills so far - with no luck for the most part - LOL.

Bruce - I've been impressed with the hitting so far, red and white jerseys. My concern through the first 5 games and now is when the Flames are receiving more than giving.

OK - I lied about the OT - but I have to get up at 5am - I sure hope this does not go 2 or 3 OT's!!!!!!

How about an unsung hero?????
Detroit - Maltby
Calgary - Giordano

I'm actually glad I gave my tickets away now. I was at the game on Tuesday, worked until midnight on Wedensday, and at the game on Thursday. I didn't see my baby all week and I'm still tired. Time to put the rye away and brew some java.

And I do feel sorry for you guys out east. Your boys are gonna gut it out, so stick around.
