Hi everyone,
A few years ago I put up a thread on one of my guilty pleasure sets - 94-95 Signature Rookies. Since then, I've all but stopped collecting hockey (aside from some Jets), but this set has stayed with me.
Since my original post I've found a menagerie of new cards from the set and I thought I'd share my work here in case there are any other sadistic collectors still working on this mammoth.
Here we go with the convolusion.
Base set
----------
- 70 cards were part of the base. 69 players, 1 CL. Print run: 45,000
- There were quite a few uncorrected errors (though they were corrected for the autos... hmm...)
Future Flash
-------------
- 10 players. Print run: 7,000
- each had an autograph parallel. Serial #/2100
Cool 5
-------
- 5 players. Print run: 7,000
- Each had an autograph parallel. Serial #/1050
- NEW INFO - I recently discovered that there was a Brad Park promo auto. #/72. I don't know if there are promo autos for the other players (image available if anyone wants to see).
Autograph parallels
-----------------------
Ok... here we go.
- Each card has an autograph parallel "serial #/7750".
- A number were redemptions.
Here's why there are air quotes around the serial.
-- I have found a few autographs that aren't serial numbered but instead have a Sig Rookies hologram. I currently own 2
-- As helped by a few collectors on here in the past, there appears to be a full set that are "promo autographs". Promo is written in the serial numbered space with hand numbering elsewhere on the card. Some cards have less than 50 copies, obscenely unheard of for the era. It is unknown if these cards were cut from the 7,750 count or if they were done separately
-- NEW INFO - There are also two short-numbered auto cards, seemingly a parallel to the original 7,750. They are Jim Carey (hand numbered to 2500) and Brian (sp) Berard (hand numbered to 2575)
Promos
--------
In addition to the aforementioned promo autos, there were two other promo programs
- A 5 card set only offered through the Sig Rookies "Club". print run was 20,000
- An autograph parallel was produced of these cards. serial numbered to 500.
- An additional prom card was created of Eric Fichaud (his only in the entire set). print run 7,750
I'll use the disclaimer that this is what I THINK is the full run, but I have the feeling there are a couple more layers out there.
For anyone who has any of these available, let me know. I'm working on the promo autos and inserts/insert parallels still, and don't have any of the redemption cards.
