Would you rather someone took the time to post scans with negotiable prices in a sale thread OR if directed to a bucket would you check the bucket out and make an offer?

IMO the best way to go is with negotiable prices and just entertain offers. I've found that most people are hesitant to make an offer if they have no idea what the person is looking for.

I hate looking through buckets personally. The captions and the thumbnails are too small so I don't really know what I'm looking at without zooming in on every pic there.

Photobucket is a good service to host uploaded images, but it's not friendly for outsiders to navigate through.

There are also some very cluttered and unorganized buckets which make it an instant deterrent

Buckets are far too disorganized and time consuming for someone who wishes he had more time as it is to spend on this hobby.

I'd rather see scans, a text list, or a combination with prices in a sales thread.

Dito. Plus buckets are mostly not up to date. If you post the scans seperatly in a new thread, chances are better that all cards are still available and not traded away etc.

Scans or a list, with prices.
I hate looking through buckets as they are often either out of date,or so disorganized and small that I cant tell what Im looking at without spending a half hour.
