Former NHLer Peter Zezel Near Death

Sad to hear... I hadn't know he was suffering from that, probably best... too many celebs-stars are hounded in poor health for a story. The clip says best remembered for his days in Toronto?? I remember him most during his days as a Flyer... the finals appearance against the Oilers.

wow that is really sad to hear, I knew he was sick for a while but didn't realize it was this bad. He was one of my favorites of the early 90's buds. :(

This is very sad to hear.. I remember Peter and the Leafs beating my Wings in 1993. My thoughts are with him.

Cherry was talking about this Saturday night. Zezel was probably one of the only Leafs I ever liked, probably due to the fact that I picked him in my first ever hockey pool. I hope he pulls through.

Just hate to hear this. Really sad and I do remember him more for as a Flyer than anyone else

Saw this article earlier in the day. While I feel badly for Zezel - one of the better faceoff men the Leafs ever had - the article does him some serious injustice by misrepresenting his illness.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Peter. One of my favorite Leafs, he brought it every night and as mentioned earlier one of the best on the draw.
Dan.

You will be missed #22

I will always remember him in a Flyers uni - and as Dean Youngbloods legs - RIP

RIP Zezel, I remember the days I would go through my Pro Set cards and put yours aside because you dawned the Maple Leaf.

Peter Zezel was an AWESOME guy. I met him in a beach volleyball tournament about 12 years ago when I was working for Sun Life. We were in the same complex in Scarborough as TSN was and the tenants in the complex had a charity tournament. He was easily approachable and even though on the other team, he was fun as heck to play against. I made fun of his calves (which looked like tree trunks) and he just kicked at the sand like a bull and laughed.

RIP, Mr. Zezel. You definitely were one of the good guys.

Quite sad indeed. He is one of the first cards I remember having. I believe it was hsi 88-89 Topps card, naturally cheerished it because he was Flyer and I remember watchign him play. aaaaa.....Definitely sucks.

Quincy, coudl you shed some light? I woudl wonder how he battled for 11 years then suddenly nose dived. Im just curious if theyres things theyre not sayign or are misinformed about.

Loved Zezel especially as a Leaf, I had a Zezel jersey and wore it proudly playing street hockey. RIP
