Hello everyone,

Just started a new job about a month ago. I work three twelves on the weekend (parallels my wife schedule) so we will have more time to skate and ski during the winter. Well since she is in burning man I decided to take a little trip down to Pueblo and Colorado Springs to check out the local shops for misc. cards.

Colorado Springs - 4 Shops
First shop was closed...off to a great start
Second shop picked up some cards and a box of newer Victory (The only card that is scan worthy)
Thrid shop picked up some cards (one for X-Head - will be in mail tomorrow) and didn't purchase any wax (2006-07 Sweet Shot for $159.00 a tin)
Fourth shop was just a apperal shop that had Denver Broncos team sets (why are you listed in the Sports Cards and Memorabilia section of the phone book?)

Pueblo - 2 Shops
First shop had a 3200 count box of hockey cards. Most were Avs from 1995-96 thru 1999-00 with prices from those years - $150.00 for a Patrick Roy Un-Cut Parallel from 1995-96 Donruss Elite. Maybe about 500 cards were inserts/parallel cards from back in the day. I asked him when was the last time he had someone come in and LOOK for hockey. He said that he used to get some people before the lockout but nothing since. I asked him if he had a price in mind for the whole box. He went over and looked at his re-cockulous prices he had on the card and asked me to make an offer. After going through the whole box I offered him $250 which was about 1/3 of the actual BV of the box, and he said that was way to low and I would be getting a steal. If someone came to my doorstep and offered me 33% of BV for a sport that I have not had someone look at in over three years I would ask him if he wanted help out to his car.

Second shop was another apperal shop that didn't even have a bronco team set to qualify for the Sports Cards and Memorabilia classification.

Anyway it was a good day until I got called into work at 3:30. It is just more overtime to pay for my vacation and the cards I picked up.

Here is the scan of the one card that was laying upside down in a showcase. See how much hockey love goes on in this state:

It is a nice 3 color five layer jersey card.

Thank you for the look.

Shawn

I don't understand why it is written Authentic Game Worn Jersey on the card, while the swatch is a patch.

is it a patch parallel or what?? the regular jsy card should be numbered to 55, I guess???

It says Patch variation on the top right hand corner of the swatch, can't see it in the scan because of the way the patch pushes out.

djsports, thank you for the quick reply!!

Beautifull pick-up, and it's GUed :) :)

and, yeah, some shops are a pain in the *** to deal with. some sellers don't follow the market, or are plain stupid.
