Halladay signed a 3yr. $60 million extension with the Phillies.
Here's a breakdown of who's getting who:
Mariners get: Cliff Lee (from Phillies)
Phillies get: Roy Halladay (from Blue Jays), Philippe Aumont, Juan Ramirez, and Tyson Gillies (from Mariners)
Blue Jays get: Kyle Drabek, Travis D'Arnaud (from Phillies), Brett Wallace (from A's)
A's get: Michael Taylor (from Blue Jays). Taylor gets traded twice in all of this as he came from the Phillies to the Blue Jays in the Halladay trade.
Huge deal. The Jays were in a tough spot, and I think they came out pretty good. I love the flip of Taylor for Wallace. I think Wallace will be starting at third this season. The Phillies get who they wanted all along in Halladay. And the M's come out the best in all of this (imo) in working their way into this deal and landing Lee. I don't really get why the A's parted with Wallace for Taylor, I mean they project fairly similar, but Wallace is farther along in his development and is Big League ready, Taylor is not.
