The Florida Panthers are signing free agent defenceman Radko Gudas to a three-year deal worth $2.5 million annually.

Capitals sign Henrik Lundqvist to one-year contract

Henrik Lundqvist has found himself a new home as the veteran goaltender is signing with the Washington Capitals on a one-year deal.

Lundqvist had the final year of his contract bought out by the New York Rangers last week, ending a 15-year reign in the Big Apple. His previous contract carried an $8.5-million cap hit but he was only owed $5.5 million in total salary for the 2020-21 season.

Under the worst kept secret file, King Henrik signs with the caps for 1 year.

Lightning place Johnson on waivers

Johnson has a modified no-trade clause, and his camp gave Tampa Bay a list of seven or eight teams he'd accept a trade to, but the Lightning were unable to facilitate a deal, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

The 30-year-old has four seasons remaining on his contract with an average annual value of $5 million.
 
Canucks sign forward Tyler Motte to two-year contract

The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed forward Tyler Motte to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $1.225 million.

Motte, 25, recorded four goals and eight points in 34 games for the Canucks last season, while adding four goals and an assist in 17 post-season contests this summer in the Edmonton bubble.

The 121st-overall pick in 2013 by the Chicago Blackhawks, who is a St. Clair, Mich., native, was acquired by the Canucks in February 2018 as part of the Thomas Vanek deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Jets ink defenceman Nathan Beaulieu to two-year, $2.5M deal

The Winnipeg Jets and defenceman Nathan Beaulieu have agreed to a two-year deal worth $1.25 million annually.

Oilers sign goaltender Anton Forsberg to one-year deal

The Oilers have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with goaltender Anton Forsberg & forward Alan Quine, as well as a two-year, two-way contract with forward Seth Griffith.

Forsberg had a 15-9-2 record with a 2.95 goals-against average and .905 save percentage with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers during the 2019-20 season. The 27-year-old also appeared in three games with the Carolina Hurricanes, going 1-1 with a 3.35 GAA and a.892 save percentage.
 
Ducks sign Kevin Shattenkirk to three-year, $11.7M deal

Fresh off winning the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk is headed to Anaheim on a three-year deal with the Ducks.

Shattenkirk's deal is worth $3.9 million a year.

Former Canadien Nate Thompson signs with Jets

On Saturday, the Winnipeg Jets told the 36-year-old he can still play, signing the free-agent centre to a one-year contract worth US$750,000.

In 70 games last season, split between the Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers, Thompson posted 4-11-15 totals and won more than 54 per cent of his faceoffs as a veteran fourth-liner who can also kill penalties. The Canadiens dealt Thompson to the Flyers at the NHL trade deadline in February in exchange for a fifth-round pick at next year’s NHL Draft.

Thompson will be heading into his 14th NHL season with his ninth team since being selected by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round (183rd overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft. He has played for the Bruins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, Los Angeles Kings, the Canadiens, Flyers and now joins the Jets.

Rangers sign defenceman Jack Johnson to one-year deal

The New York Rangers have signed defenceman Jack Johnson to a one-year deal.

Johnson became a free agent after having his contract bought out by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 33-year-old scored three goals and 11 points during the 2019-20 regular season. Johnson had a minus-4 rating with two shots on net in four Stanley Cup Playoff games this season.

The Indianapolis, Ind., native has 15 seasons of experience in the NHL, with 70 goals and 302 points over 937 games.

Capitals, Justin Schultz agree to two-year, $8M contract

The Washington Capitals have signed defenceman Justin Schultz to a two-year, $8-million contract, the team announced on Friday.

Caps take Justin Schultz at 4 mil per season for 2 years (guessing he gets exposed at the expansion draft)
