You know your management is good when they blame a guy playing about 13 minutes per night for the shortcomings of the entire team.

NOT defending Nicholson, but the facts behind his comments are terribly true. Rieder has ZERO goals and 11 assists in 60 games. This season he has been a dismal failure- no way around that.
Maybe next year Rieder has a decent season- who knows. This year = toilet.

Reider has sucked this year. No doubt about it. Bob's math sucks to though.... I have my doubt that 12 more goals would have them in the playoffs.

Now if Toby had 12, and Lucic had 12 (+7) and Rattie had 10 (+6) and they hadn't dealt Caggulia for Manning AND Caggulia had kept up his pace (7 goals in 29 games... So another 7 at this point?)

Those exta 32? Yeah, their a playoff team

Bob Nicholson is over rated as a hockey person and executive... I'm so glad he is out of Hockey Canada and is only able to affect those in the Oilers organization now.
