A buddy of mine called me over the weekend ranting about how he had just cost himself several hundreds of dollars sniping a card... I should add, he was slurring his speech a little. My original thought was, shoot we have all set a monster snipe and overpaid before, right? Then he explained the story....

A week earlier a card he really wanted was listed on the bay. Since he works strange hours, he set a snipe via auctionsniper for waaaaay more than what the card is worth. I guess he considered it a "must have" card. Well, fast forward a week and he is having a few brews at his brothers house watching TV. He is searching the bay on his bros computer and stumbles across the same card. He sets another monster snipe for the same card, but you guessed it, with his brothers ID. LMAO!!! So, this knucklehead outsniped himself and ran up the auction a few hundred bucks. I just thought that was too funny and I think the moral of the story is "No Drunken Sniping!!!"

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this. Mike

Wow. That's sweet. But really Mike? A friend called you...... We all know who the story is really about...

:D :D

But seriously, you know you might have a drinking problem when...

Drunk dialing and drunk bidding - two things one should never do - you end up paying for it big either way...

A few things....

Vic - Good to see you again my Commie friend.:)

Cole - I swear it wasn't me, although I have never been accused of being a "rocket scientist". lol!

Art - I think you need to share your drunk dialing experience.;)

Hahaha - great story!

I remember bidding on a card one night after coming in from a night out playing a show that had an open bar for us after we got off stage... I sat down to bid after SEVERAL rounds and instead of bidding $130, I bid $11130...

I woke up to see that I won the card for $88, but lost my mind when I saw my max bid... Since then, I bid before I go out!!!

Can you please tell me what this guy likes to bid on. I will then send you $20 to buy him a case of beer to drink. We can split the profits...I swear :)

What a sad sad story - for the seller. Here he is having to dish out way more in fees than he should have. Poor guy.

drunk bidding is how i ended up with my Tavares yg this year. came home with the munchies decided to check out the-bay as a hate my lunch, put in a lowball offer on the yg and the guy accepted. forgot all about it until i got invoice from the guy. also recieved invoices from 3 other sellers apparently i was in a spending mood. my wife was not impressed.

I think we've all been there, maybe not to that extent though. I woke up one morning with 6 "Youve Won" eBay messages, no recolection of winning, luckily all were under $20 though, and all cards I wanted.

Funny story, a buddy and I were out one night, had a few too many, and when we got home, decided to checck out amazon. I went to sleep long before him, and then just totally forgot about the whole night. Seems he did the same. 2 days later, were sitting in his living room and the doorbell rings, it's a package for him, from amazon. He could not figure out what he bought. We opened it, and there was a Calvin & Hobbs statue in it, with a receipt, for $225! No memory of buying it, no need for it, didn't even want it, but he still has it, as a reminder to never drink and use the internet :)
