Ok, so here's the dilemna, I can buy one of two gamers. One is a rookie year jersey. It was used for 10 regular season games.

The other is a "special event" night jersey, which is already photomatched, and has the special event patch still stitched on the jersey. It was used during a regular season game.

The rookie jersey is of course, a rookie jersey.

The "special event" game used jersey is a second year jersey.

The cost is slightly higher for the special event jersey, but the cost is not a major consideration.

If it's the guy you collect, which one do you buy?

Since I'm not a rookie collector and rookie stuff doesn't matter a whole lot to me I'd probably take the special event jersey.

depends on the event, if it is an all star game, those are could be pretty rare later on. If it is like the Ice Bowl or anything like that, I would take the event jersey

a player you collect, get the rookie year jersey. if not, go special event. if cost wasn't an issue like you said, go for both. :D

Are you trying to get me a divorce here Kev;)

I should have clarified....the difference in cost is not an issue.

The cost of both is not an option right now unfortunately.

I do like the way you think though:beer:

Depends on your preference. Special event jerseys don't often get a lot of wear as they are usually worn for 1 game.

If you plan on getting both jerseys in the future maybe go for special event first and rookie jersey second - there will be more than 1 Rookie jersey (unless the player is called up briefly) but usually only 1 special event jersey.

You're only a rookie once. Teams can have as many ridiculous special event nights as they want to. Considering the special event jersey is more expensive, even though cost is not a factor, it's a nice bonus to get the rookie jersey cheaper. Go rookie jersey, bro.

I'm thinking you have a crazy tough choice ahead of you!! I would probably grab the rookie one only because you're rookie collection for the "BIG L", that you presently have is awesome and why not add to it with a rookie gamer as well to top it all off!!!!

Well, personally I think I'd go with the special event jersey. I have two Bertuzzi gamers in a Canuck uniform (I'm a big Canucks fan), but my favorite one is probably the one I have from Anaheim....solely on the fact that I can photo match the EXACT jersey. Although I know the Canuck ones are real (both Meigray)....there is no question about about the Anaheim one when you have a definite photomatch to show the nay sayers.

i think a lot of it for me boils down to what the event was.
there can be a lot of events for some teams, as someone said. is it all-star? is it some jersey retirement night? the teams anniversary jersey?

those are the questions that i would need to know before i bought the jersey. if the event wasn't "quality" in my mind, I'd go with the more worn of the two, likely the rookie one. If the event was up to scratch, I think I'd take that one.

Also the photo-matching is key, I really like it.
