I am curious to know if the stamped numbers on sticks have any real significance to the stick, for example if the stick was made for a specific player or if its a prototype stick for that player to test.. or when it was issued.

I have a stick that i'd like to gather more info on .. it has 080306 04 stamped on the underside of the shaft and i would like to know what that stands for if anything.

Although it may be a coincidence, I wouldn't be surprised if it was manufactured on August 3, 2006. Also, 04 could be, as you mentioned, a prototype number if the player was testing some different styles?

Production dates are almost always found in some form on custom order sticks - particularly pro or special make sticks. With the old wood sticks, and I would imagine some composites - it might be helpful to know this in case a particular batch was bad

The stick I have is a Bauer Supreme that was to have been used between 97-00 when Darcy Tucker was in Tampa Bay.

The tape job and the sig look legit to me but there is factory stamping on the top of the shaft usually where a player name would be stamped and its scratched out. The seller is claiming that the stick is 100% legit and his buddy got it from Tucker.

I'll upload pics later on... quick reference you can check the bay

thats the listing for the stick.

I have found a few pics of tucker using this type of stick but the scratched out stamping got me worried.
