Gamers...what are you playing right now?

Right now, giving another run through of Lost Oddysey. Forgot how much I enjoyed this game. Would love to see more JRpgs hit the market.

I'm playing an arcade game right now - Monday Night Combat. Love it, really worth the 20 bucks it cost! The online multiplayer is sweet, and when you can play with your friends, make a nice tactic and everything, it's even sweeter! Get this little game :giggity:

Not sure what I'll be playing next...I've just taken all 3 titles in Fight Night Round 4 using a CAB of Josh Barnett (who surprisingly hasn't tested positive for steroids in yet  ) since "Barnett" and "The Babyface Assassin" were available announcer name choices. I figured I would be getting my *** handed to me by Mike Tyson since his stats are far and away better than anybody else in the entire heavyweight division (he's 99s across the board for most things) but to my surprise, I knocked him down 3 times in the first round and he couldn't answer the bell. He had really low cut stats, so peppering his eye with jabs, opening up a cut and landing a few shots were the way to go. So everything's downhill from here...finish out the GOAT challenge and retire I suppose and move on to the next game.

Fun game...I still think Fight Night Round 3 is the best boxing game ever, but 4 is pretty good in itself.

I'm still playing ESPN NFL 2K5 for Xbox (yes, the first version) and I'm in year 2025 I think. All the real players are all retired and players are all generated now.

I keep it old SCHOOL!!

On my Xbox 360, I'm still playing Gears of War 2 for Xbox 360 and Halo 3: ODST for Xbox 360

So...back from PAX with the following report:

Must Gets:

-Spy Party. This game is about 2 years away from full release, but when it comes out, it will be worth every penny.
-The new NBA Jam. This game is so off the hook awesome that the most jaded NBA Jammer in the history of NBA Jammers (me) loves it. The Wii version will be the most up to date and updated, but the 360 and PS3 base builds (included with this year's NBA Elite) should be adequate for most of us.

Games worth a closer look:

-Epic Mickey. Disney had a massive booth and the Epic Mickey game looks great. They've even fashioned a paintbrush nunchuck specifically for the game. It appears to be a few months away from release, especially since they haven't finished it and the rating is still pending. There also appeared to be a few little things they needed to clean up too.

-Dead Rising 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. Both of the Vegas games appear to be basically palette swaps of the previous efforts. I didn't see anything new out of Dead Rising 2 that the first didn't offer (outside of combo weapons.) The Zombie motions and attacks appear to be the same, as do the hero animations. Fallout: New Vegas appears to have even less than that...it looks like Fallout 3 but with a focus on orange instead of green.

Of course, this is just on the surface...and realistically, both of the previous attempts were good/fun enough that a major overhaul wasn't needed.

-Rock Band 3. If you've been through the other Rock Bands, you've been through this one (with the addition of the keyboard.) I don't need to say much...it'll teach you how to play a keyboard, but if you're a Rock Band fan, you're probably going to go out and buy this anyway, so you don't need my recommendation.

-Duke Nukem forever. They had a giant secretive booth set up, but the lineups were 2-3 hours long at a time. Apparently it exists, but whether it's a fake build they're using to screw with us, or something for real remains to be seen. It's been cued for a 2011 release, 15 1/2 years after it was originally supposed to come out.

-Super Scribblenauts. Basically the first game with better graphics and a more intuitive gameplay engine/word recognition. The first game with all its problems was still good. This should be as well.

Games to avoid:

-Retrograde. You'll see this game coming out next year on PS3 Arcade and nothing else. It sucks. The game has fantastic graphics, but it plays worse than ****. The lead developer was an obnoxious douche, and his staff weren't much better. Sometimes that's ok if your game can speak for itself, but this one didn't and won't. It was confusing as all hell, even after explanations, and has no redeeming qualities at all.

-Two Worlds II. Unless they do something to make this game worthwhile, it's an avoid for sure. They gave out cool t-shirts, but even that didn't save it's ballsuckingness. First of all, I couldn't figure out what era the game took place in. I looked like I was playing in the 1400s given that I was dressed up like a knight, but all of a sudden, I got bumrushed by undeads. There was a game that already did this to a level of effectiveness. If that's what you seek, then go play Oblivion.

-PS3 Move. Nintendo revolutionized the home market sensor based interactive video gaming experience. Microsoft looks to improve with a camera that requires no controllers and works straight on body movement via an on the fly crafted body wireframe. Sony developed a system that's basically an Eye Toy with a Wii Controller. But wait..it's black and changes colors via a dome at the top! Then they're going to charge $150 for just the first part of the controller and the camera, and expect you pay another $50 for the "nunchuk" bit. What a ****ing steal!

-Formula 1 2011. Possibly the worst racing game I've ever played. The physics are far too unrealistic to make it enjoyable, as even the most seasoned of F1 Gamers would fall 30 seconds behind the rest of the field after the first turn because they were unable to run their vehicles or brake well enough to turn. This was on a build that was 80% complete to where they said the only enhancements they needed to make were adding the rest of the tracks. Good luck.

There's more, but I'm running out of things to say. More later if anybody's interested :D

Um, I believe the total package for PS3 Move is $99, includes a Game, motion controller, navigation controller and Eye...that's the order price from EB games, so I am not sure where you're getting $200 from? Then, additional controllers are $49.99 for the motion controller and $29.99 for the add on navi controller...

And call me crazy, but I'm thinking it's gonna be a while before Microsoft brings out anything worthwhile on Kinect. But Tiger Woods 2011 using the PS3 Move? Sign me the hell up!!!! It will be like the Wii version, but with graphics that don't suck.

Dance Central. I'm not a dancer but this game looks legit.

EDITED:::

NHL 11

Rob...the girl at the WB Games booth told me the MSRP was going to be $150 and didn't include the second piece...so...I figured the info was legitimate :p

Of course, she was also trying to sell me on the fact that Aragorn's Quest was a good game, so...you know how well that worked out.

They were previewing another LOTR game (I guess EA lost their license for LOTR) which was an MMO called War of the North. My girlfriend watched their demo and said the game didn't look that bad, but it was standard MMO fare.

MMOs are an interesting bag. I just don't know how many more MMOs we need out there that have similar concepts. The only MMO at this point I see raking in as much $$ as WoW (if done right) is a Pokemon MMO (which even I'd think about playing) but Nintendo's said they have no plans because its what does the best job at selling their consoles. Lego Universe was an exceptional concept when everything started, but the game attempted to be way too family oriented off the bat (it's assumed everybody playing is a young kid basically and there's no server segregation which there could/should be) and as such, is way too restrictive for an MMO.

Nhl 11 wooo. Let the glitch goals begin!

Your signature's awesome.

They had an interview on TV with Ryan Kesler and Jack Johnson yesterday where they were playing NHL 2K11 against each other.

The interviewer goes "So did they do a good job in taking you in-game and turning you into the world class athletes you guys are?" and Kesler goes "Well I just scored a hat trick against him, so..."

lol that's pretty much what I am expecting this year. I am almost positive the Kings will play Mitchel to help out JJ on the back end. Matt have you seen the other video of JJ playing against a kid on NHL 11? JJ gets beat bad because all he does is use himself and try to go end to end over and over again. It's on the nhl.com site. To funny!

What's Spy Party all about?

Spy Party's a 2 person, 2 screen game where one person is a spy, and the other is a sniper.

In its most bare bones form, the purpose of the game is for the sniper to locate and shoot the spy in a room full of people. The sniper gets one bullet and only one bullet.

In between, it's the spy's job to mingle in the room with people while completing a small list of objectives (like planting a bug on an ambassador, switching an expensive statue with a cheap replica, etc etc) in a designated time. It's the sniper's job to analyze behavior to shoot out out who the spy is. Everybody at the party will at some point be doing a lot of the same things the spy is (like looking at the statues, speaking with the ambassador and such) to throw the sniper off the scent.

Finally am back online, if anyone wants a game on 360, feel free to add LuckyZombieHand, I like either regular games or shootouts.

The career mode in Virtua Tennis 3 jumped up in difficulty so much once I was eligible to qualify for majors that I've put it aside for now and started on career mode in Virtua Tennis 2009.

Net Hack :)

Harri

I heartily endorse this event and or product.

Are the Gnome mines still as much of a pain in the *** as they were 10 years ago. I got the wand of genocide one time and chose Gnomes. That was the best trip through Gnome Mines I'd ever taken...I think I got down about 12 levels, collecting gems and everything until the Water Naiad's sprung out of nowhere and I got attacked by 7 or 8 of them at once.

Damn Harri, now I wanna play Nethack again.
