:oilers: - Ducks Preview and can be seen here: SNET-W (HD), PRIME with a TV start of 8:00pm MDT.

The surging Ducks look for a season-high sixth straight victory Friday night while trying to avoid a third consecutive home loss to the struggling Oilers in a matchup of clubs competing for the final Western Conference playoff spots.

Anaheim (37-31-6) rolled to a 7-2 victory at Colorado on Wednesday to continue its solid play down the stretch. The Ducks are tied with Nashville for seventh place, but have one more win than the Predators with eight games remaining.

"It's a perfect time to be going on a streak like this because you want to be going into the playoffs at your peak," defenseman James Wisniewski said of the Ducks, who last won six in a row from Feb. 17-March 3, 2008.

Edmonton (35-30-9), meanwhile, looks to avoid its fourth straight loss after falling 3-2 at lowly Phoenix on Thursday. The Oilers are just one point behind Anaheim, but currently tied with St. Louis for ninth place.

"Right now, we're getting down to the nitty-gritty in the schedule and can only look ahead," defenseman Sheldon Souray said of the Oilers, who have eight games remaining.

In their previous two games, the Oilers won 3-2 at Anaheim on Oct. 15 and the Ducks earned a 3-2 shootout victory at Edmonton on Dec. 19.

4-2 end of second for oilers..

exciting game i gotta say lots of action and heart by oilers tonight which is nice to see, pk has been good tonight, but the usually meltdown in second period minus 2 quick goals at beginning of period.

Oilers won 5-3, wow as much as oilers got outplayed in the 3rd there pk came up big in the third and second, really big...roloson had another amazing night.

i wish oilers wouldn't let teams walk all over them its gettign to the point if they do make playoffs they won't survive.

must win and they got it, 7th place again.

Tonight I'm an Oilers fan...and will be for anybody that keeps the Ducks out of the playoffs. 54 shots faced by Roloson compared to 19 faced by Giguere and Hiller combined. Absolutely insane!

Roloson is becoming one of my favorite Oilers of all time, the man is a machine!
Absolutely insane goaltending!!!

I couldn't believe my eyes when he glove snapped Pronger's one-timer on the point powerplay. I haven't seen a clutch save like that in a long time!

I found an article in today's paper I found interesting which was a quote from MacT, where he said he hadn't seen that kind of spectacular goaltending since he saw Pete Peters defeat the Nordiques when they played in Boston...I guess I will take his word for it!

I can't wait to see the rematch on Tuesday as I will be sitting at ice-level for that one!
Ooo-boy! :)

Keep it up Roli! You Rock!
