GDT: Game 7 - Montréal @ Boston - May 14th

yea I just watched a video of the handshake. what a bad guy eh? Losing sucks but that's the handshake man. Its all about respect. what a bummer he did that. I wonder if the NHL will fine him for it????

that's was pretty classless of Lucic. It'll add fuel to the rivalry, but there's some stuff that crossed the line by Lucic. A stick to the berries of Emelin isn't very sportsmanlike either. Plus the comment about Weise being a "baby" about it, seems pretty immature on Lucic's part. School yard bully talk. Grow up and be a pro.

The water squirting thing by Thornton was pretty cheap and seemed bush league since it was done during the play.

It gives the underlying feeling that the Bruins felt that they didn't believe they were the better team, and had to resort to cheap and low stunts.

Aaron Ward just ripped into Lucic, apparently Lucic told Weise "I am going to bleeping kill you next year." Then he called Weise a baby in the locker room after . . . interesting.

He had some choice words for Emelin too after Weise. Can read his lips in this video if you want - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUMHBW1Gm8k Lucic continues to be a punk like usual.

It's hard to respect a good team like Boston when they have clowns like Lucic, Thornton, and Marchand acting like idiots all the time.

You know what was going thru every Bruins players head:

"What the "F" is this clown doing now, somebody shut him up"

Agreed. Its up to Chara to stop that kind of BS. HE is the Captain and needs to say something. That is garbage but then I don't think many can defend Lucic. A MASIVE douchebag.

I understand trash talk during a series and leading up to it, I think its necessary and part of the game.

But in the ****ing handshake after you've been eliminated you tell guys (while on tape) "I'm going to ****ing kill you next year". I hope he does get fined.
True colors shining through for Milan. Sore loser with no class.

My wife brought up an interesting point that outside of a sports profession Lucic just would have ruined his career and could be facing charges for uttering threats.

I wonder how Don Cherry will spin this! probably call Weise a baby too, it must have killed that old man to see the habs beat the bruins again.

Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid....these guys are acting like little children. What type of human says that to another person?

As far as a fine goes...i think its unlikely...it seems like nobody is talking. I think this would be a case of a "he said, she said" thing (the she being Lucic)

I'll say it again...the Bruins are stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid

This is the double edged sword that Julien has built in Boston. They are the big bad Bruins and play with swagger, toughness and intimidation when they are winning and then things like this unravel when the team goes south.

It took one of the greatest and classiest moments in all of sports and turned it on it's ear - but really what did anyone expect. Ciccarelli shook that guys bleeping hand after one of the toughest series I can remember and managed to keep his mouth shut until he got in the lockerroom, but Lucic and the Bruins just couldn't do that. He would have been better served just skipping the handshake and head off the ice.

Wait for Saturday's Coach's Corner. Cherry will defend Lucic's behaviour by complaining that they shouldn't be shaking hands at the end of games anyway.

Preach it brother. Ciccarelli watched his teammate get his face bashed in by that era's Matt Cooke, and he still got in line and did what hockey players do. Shake hands and respect your opponent no matter how much you dislike them. If Ciccarelli and every other Wing could do that after what Lemieux did to Draper, there is no player in hockey with a good enough excuse to pull what Lucic did. It just goes to prove what most non-Boston fans have been saying for years, the Bruins are THE BIGGEST babies in all of sports. They act tough and talk tough, they dish out cheap shot after cheap shot, but if you do anything to one of them - its fight time or they are whining about the refs. Typical middle school bully mentality, and I'm really glad they have been exposed to the world now. They come out of this playoff looking like the biggest goats in all of sports, and it is well deserved for their antics. I bet Crosby and Malkin are sending thank you cards to the Bruins for taking the spotlight off them right now....

Briere is unsung hero. Underrated.

B's took so many dumb penalties. Marchand's snow job on Price was another example.

I wonder how long management will tolerate his antics. He hurt the team more than helped it this playoffs. Take a dumb penalty, break the team's momentum, especially already when you're behind.

As for playoff revenue, with the Habs going to the Eastern finals, will it boost the salary cap? There was talk about a 4% drop due to the drop in the CAN$.

It's been said that every home game in Montreal in the playoffs is $3M in pure revenues for the NHL. Now, that number could be higher since they're deeper into the playoffs and the prices inch up even more.
Add on top of that the impact of NHL licensed merchandise bearing the Habs logo. Could have a big impact for sure.

Habs success is basically a license to print money.
