RANGERS (11-8-2) at ISLANDERS (10-11-2)
TV: MSG, MSG PLUS 2
Last 10: Rangers 5-3-2; Islanders 5-4-1
Season series: This is the third of four meetings between the New York rivals, the first at Nassau Coliseum. They have split, the Rangers winning 4-1 on Feb. 7 and the Islanders taking a 4-3 decision in a shootout one week later. They play again April 13.
Big story: The Rangers likely will be without defenseman Marc Staal, who was injured when a deflected slap shot hit him near the right eye during the third period Tuesday night. Staal's status has not been updated by the Rangers, but his brother, Carolina Hurricanes captain Eric Staal, told NHL.com that Marc is waiting for the swelling to go down before further determination on the severity of the injury can be made. Rangers center Brad Richards also remains questionable after missing the game Tuesday because of soreness.
