CANUCKS (1-2-1) at OILERS (1-0-1)

TV: CBC (HD)

Season series : It's the first of six intradivisional matchups. The Canucks took the first four games last season, with Cory Schneider getting the home wins and Roberto Luongo winning on the road. The Oilers won twice in the final week of the season, sweeping a home-and-home with a 4-1 drubbing at Rogers Arena and a 2-0 shutout at Rexall Place.

Big story: Believe it or not, the Canucks had the same record last year after four games -- and they finished with the best record in the NHL. Still, it's out of character for this team to struggle at any time, even on a four-game road trip that has seen them go 1-2-0, including a 2-0 loss at Detroit on Thursday. Edmonton has played a pair of 2-1 games that were decided in shootouts, beating the Penguins and losing to the Wild, but injuries are starting to cause trouble again.

Will be an interesting game, I think we might see an energized and motivated Oilers team tonight. Canucks will have to play better than their last two games to win.

Go :canucks: Go

I'm looking forward to this game, excited to see the young Oilers team and hoping we see a game similar to what we used to see a few years back where both teams played a quick paced game with lots of back and forth excitement.

Definitely want to see a fast-paced game. These two teams used to play absolute classics a few years back.

Here's hoping the trolls don't come in and get the GDT closed down with their immaturity.

Luongo sucks. Just gonna say it here so you can all reference it after he lets in a few weak ones later

For your sake Jon I hope the Canucks never trade Luongo, because if they did what would you have to whine about then?

it's not whining. its truth.

for my sake, your sake and every other canucks fan's sake you better hope they do, because until then we will not have a stanley cup to celebrate.

2-1 oil after the 1st period

2 things. RHN looks awesome out there. actually, the whole line looks great.
luongo looks decent tonight. 1st goal, he had no chance... made a great 1st save, no chance on the rebound... 2nd goal, i missed it, so no opinion.

lets hope they can come back.

Game over. 4-3 Canucks

Dear Mr. Hordichuk:

Yes, we are laughing AT you.

Congrats to RNH. This Oiler team could be freaking scary in a couple of years.
