i am curious what the print run is of sp cards from various sets. the examples i have are the winter classic opc cards from malkin and crosby. others would be the lemieux auto from last years artifacts. if anyone can chime in here much appreciated.

In some rare cases, UD will indicate that there are a specific number of non-numbered SP cards produced (06-07 UD S2 "UD Signatures" comes to mind), but usually, there is no specific number.

So there is no generally accepted number like there is for Victory Black or anything?

I have always wondered about the SP thing myself. I mean do you think we're generally looking at 50 prints? 100? 1000?

YG are short-printed, but there have been over 1000 Crosby YG cards that have been graded. So we can conclude that there are way more than 1000 YG cards.

But then there are also sp cards that I pretty much barely ever see, such as ITG Franchises Canadian Cam Neely auto. Pretty sure there are fewer than 1000.

It's unclear, but sps, i'm pretty sure, depend on the set. It could technically be just one less than anythign else in the set.

cheers
