The best part of waking up, is Toronto with no cup!

Proudly served since 1968.

LOVE to see those hosers take it, and in a typical choke. Congrats to Les Habitants in completing the big comeback!

Also how long until Matthews demands a trade and/or goes home to Arizona?

Barrie, our first line let us down big time in the series. I feel like Matthews may be nursing an injury, he just wasn't himself the last couple of games. Marner was a non factor throughout the series. It will be interesting to see which changes are made before next season. Nick Foligno never made an impact , in fairness he was injured and missed a few games but I can't see him coming back.
Bright spots were Spezza being our best player throughout the series and I think Kerfoot and Galchenyuk worked very hard for us but they aren't snipers.
PS.
CUPS
Toronto 11
Kings 2
Cheers.
Dan.

That is bad coaching. Keefe is to blame and only keefe
If the top line isn’t producing they should break them up
Clearly the Canadiens were shadowing the Matthews marner line so why didn’t keefe seperate them and better their chances at scoring
Spezza was a beast yet keefe never utilized him

Leafs fan will be crying even more when they let hyman walk

What's the point of a post like this? I've never understood the mindset of enjoying other's failures and disappointments.

Scoob, you have a point, in game adjustments should have been made and Keefe
didn't.

Petar, Barrie did this post tongue in cheek, not too be taken too seriously, lol.
Cheers.Dan

Things don’t always come across perfectly on the internet, I know I never do. Was having some fun at the Leafs expense for sure, but also congratulating the Habs and posing a real question about Matthews?

I thought of that aspect, legitimately, with guys like Tavares, Thornton, and Spezza going home to Toronto. Why not the same for Matthews on the flip to AZ? And with Arizona building a decent young club, and the weather there, I just feel like it’s only a matter of time.

And yes Dan, we are still a massive 9 Cup behind you. So bring a vat of Folgers to split. :)

Missing JT and Muzzin cost the Leafs. Eric Staal played really well for Habs too. And when Price is playing at his best, he's going to be tough to beat. Plus add Weber in front of him. Habs squeaked out 2 OT wins. Was fully confident and had momentum going into game 7.

I agree with all of this. And I'm gonna defend Marner/Matthews here some: They were ineffective, and that does not mean that they were not working their asses off.

The difference in the way star players are treated during the regular season vrs. the playoffs is also a big reason that Edmonton and Toronto went home early.

My best,

ken

This is my thought as well. More open ice in the regular season and more calls for the all nonsense holding, checking, etc that slows down the game and takes away the skill from the game. Instead, we get grinding and mucking in the playoffs and skill players are more effectively neutralized. I'm sorry, the NHL needs to do a better job in promoting the fast/skilled game in the playoffs as well. Since my team is not participating in the playoffs this yaer, I want to watch fun fun and exciting games and teams, not the Islanders or the Habs and the Jets grinding out a 1-0 game. You don't see star players in the NBA going 5 games in a row being basically completly shut down...

Favorite part of every season, watching the Leafs choke again!

Silly rabbits never learn! Go anyone but them!

Uh-oh. You couldn’t at least give them a few days to process their emotions?

I was hoping for the leafs this year. Would have been good for the hobby and made the Expo that much better if their playoffs lives were still going.

I’m far from being a Leafs fan, but I want my Leaf fan friends to have some relief and joy, until they’d meet my Flames in the SCF of course.

Better luck next year guys, sincerely.

Florida lost 4 straight to the Bolts, Leafs took them to seven , that has to be worth something doesn't it?
Dan.

It would have been good for the Expo for those that stockpile Leafs stuff, but no one is dumb enough to do that? Except Matthews, because he is legit, and hopefully back home in a Arizona at some point.

Too early to reserve my spot in this thread for 2023?

By that logic, I guess my Kings did great! But they didn’t, they squandered chances and lost, so they won nothing, and that counts for nothing. Sorry Dan, the excuses are seemingly endless for Toronto, they just flat out need to tear it down and try something else. They are Buffalo North.

No sir, the haters keep their fingers warm and nimble so they can type quickly when the Leafs lose.

Hate is a strong word, but I don’t think many care for the Leafs outside of Toronto? And honestly, if I don’t post something when I think of it, it’s gone, I’m so damn busy these days. Even Edmonton, the perpetual dumpster fire got it together. So when does everyone stop sugar coating to and just call a dog a dog and say the Leafs are playoff chokers? They really are.

Barrie, it's the curse of the Ballard-ino, we may end up like the Cubs and take 100 years before we do it again. I'm a life long fan so I'll just keep hoping for better things next year. Our big four make it difficult to tear it down, those contracts aren't going anywhere.
Cheers bud.
Dan.

Most leaf fans expectations are so low that the losing don't bother them anymore. As a 50 year old 45 year leaf fan I expect nothing thus it don't hurt when they lose. Sad but true. I find most of my friends who try to be clever with leaf quotes all go for losing teams as well. Last years loss to the habs stung a little mainly because most of my friends are hab fans. Hab fans are annoying.

This year is just like the 80's again. As a leaf fan you have the leafs in the regular season and then you pick your playoff team. The leafs either didn't make it or lose in the first round. My 2nd team and backup was always Edmonton so this year like the 80's the leafs are done and now I am cheering for the Oilers.
