Anyone know or can point me in the right direction of the different sizes in goalie pad sizes used in the NHL from say the late 70s to what they use now?
I know the NHL rule book says that they pad cannot exceed 11" at the extreme (widest point?) and cannot extend more then 38" from bottom to top.
What were the sizes used back in the late 70s early 80s?
Maybe some examples of what a player uses now (luongo or someone) compaired to say Dryden?
The reason I ask, I am having an argument with someone who says that back then the goalie pads were half the size of what they use now. He says they were 6" wide and maybe 20" high.
I now the sizes changed but I know they werent anything that drastic. They are close to the same size now are they not?
Thanks for any help.
Jeff
