With teams going retro for their third jerseys (oilers, Isles, etc) do you think the Flyers will bring back cooperalls? Those were the funniest things I ever saw!

I'd love to see the relocated teams do it more...Colorado, Phoenix, Carolina...man it would be good to see Quebec, Winnipeg and Hartford skate again.

I'm not a fan of the retro third jersey. Some of them were quality back in the day, but I would have thought that in this day and age, teams would have been able to be more creative. Is the whole point of another jersey not to attempt to drum up revenue through apparel sales? So then why would it make sense to have stuff look just like it did 15 years ago, so everyone who bought it then can pull it out rather than buy a new one? I understand the whole reminiscing thing, just not a fan of it.

I wore Cooperalls for about four or five years, maybe more. I remember at the time it was pretty much a given that socks and pants would never come back. In fact, they did not even sell pants and socks for a few years.

I don't miss them. They got torn, the elestic at the bottom broke, and they looked like crap. But I have to say the grey one piece pad thing was pretty comfortable.

4 or 5 years? lol

I wore them in peewee, and then it was cg1 and short pants. In fact I still have my MidgetAAA jersey. It's here on the wall, and my cooperall shoulder pads are hanging up too. As for the long pants, they are back in PEI in the Oliver family museum

I'm guessing here...1982 to 1986, maybe 1987. Every guy on the team had them, so I didn't look out of place, just equally ridiculous. Of course, at the time, it made perfect sense just like pastel sweaters and acid wash jeans.:D

As I said, I liked the grey girdle (how embarassing - 15 and wearing a girdle).
