I know of one or two but they aren't all that great and one has insane prices on just about everything from packs to singles. Anyone got any suggestions where the best place to pick up boxes in Montreal is ? Let me know...

depending on where you live in montreal you have a couple options. i'm on the W.I. so I only know of the stores there but I've heard of a coupld downtown and off island.
on the W.I. you've got 3 choices
Bluenose (overpriced and not the best service)
Raxan (average prices but not as good as it used to be)
Hall of Fame/Temple de le Renomme (best choice imo, best prices of the 3 for packs and boxes and the customer service is really good). theres also a HOF on decarie and some others downtown hopefully someone else can help you more.

cheers

Beaubien Show Aug 10,2008

Correction - Sunday August 10th, 2008 is the date of the show at 3270 Beaubien east ( corner St. Michel) 10 - 3 but most dealers leave early.

Ruby Foo's is Sunday August 24.

Thank god the show isnt this weekend, I'll be in Toronto.
As for a good card shop...it's not really a shop but I go to Quecan on Cremazie Boul.
If you check out the Beckett Hockey magazine with Crosby and Zetterberg, some kid pulled a Price 1/1 shield. I myself have pulled some pretty decent cards from there.

isnt that a wholesaler in which you need a merchant account to shop at?

Thanks for the suggestions guys... As far as where I live, Verdun but it's not a problem I can get anywhere in Montreal even the Westisland if it's worth the trip. Also I've heard of this Quecan a seller of boxes on ebay referred me there so I don't believe you need a license, unless they are running a crooked business. LOL

Nope, I think the one your talking about is King Wholesale on St. Laurent Boul.

Now the situation with Quecan was that they used to reseal cases and boxes and stuff but Upper Deck went into Quecan and told them off.
If there was anything wrong, they would be shut down completely and since then, they learned there lesson.

Some of my pulls from there are

150$ Bill Russell Auto/Jersey (basketball)
100$ Steve Nash Auto (basketball)
150$ Peter Mueller Patch/Auto (hockey)
80$ Sidney Crosby jersey card (2 color) (hockey)

All that from someone who doesnt bust a lot of wax.
Other then Quecan, I only buy boxes at Rubyfoos from Brian.

King Wholesale is the original from Ville St.Laurent, that begat Hi Q on Ontario between St. Laurent and St. Dominique then moved to the northwest corner of Ontario and St. Laurent that begat Quecan first in the old Steinberg's complex at St.Laurent and Cremazie, finally on Cremazie. The other guy (not Brian) at Ruby Foo's sells for the aforementionned. He does not sell at the Beaubien show.
