My first card I got graded was a spur of the moment and was that 89 Score Baseball Paul Gibson card where the guy behind him is readjusting his cup. I had heard late that Bases Loaded was going to have the Beckett guy there last month so I decided to send in a REAL card I've been holding onto.

So here is my 1 card Zemgus Girgensons PC:

I tried multiple photos. My phone isn't good to get a clear pic of it so that is the best one.

Typically a 9 for a new card isn't great, but those foil cards are tough to get a good grade on. Always seem to have some kind of imperfection in the edges and corners. A 9 is pretty solid.

I'm actually surprised I got a 9, I expected much lower. Reason being is that I never went "from pack to sleeve" with this one. First, I didn't get it in a pack, I got it online. It went into a page. And if that wasn't bad enough, I had taken it from a page and only into a soft sleeve to bring it to get submitted. I honestly expected a 7 or 8 at the most. So I'm happy. :)

And I always joked about sending in my REALLY bad condition Theo Fleury card... in the hopes of getting a 0 just for fun... But I didn't really understand the grading process. How you have to put it in a sleeve and then into a semi-rigid (I think that is the name) and obviously when it gets to Beckett (or whoever) they have to take it out of that and slab it. I don't think it would survive the process, so I've decided to NOT get that one graded. However I may bring it next time the Beckett rep is in town and see what he thinks.

Here's a picture of it... I mean it will likely fall apart if I tried to take it out of the holder I think...
