Half Way Thru My New Project!

Been Working on the 05-06 SPx set recently so have added quite a bit of the set recently! The big challenge with this set is the Flashback Fabrics 42 card set! Having just recently gotten back into this one I find it a challenge to get a lot of them but have now made it to 23 of 42 so far! Thanks to Rick(bigbossman) for helping to add quite a few so far! Here is what I can share so far:

Awesome set and great progress. I hate to say it but I don't think you'll ever see the Gretzky(s). I believe there were 2 versions and they were numbered less then 20 if I'm not mistaken.

Good luck with your set. Based on your previous posts on here, it shows that you've put forward serious effort and dedication in completing some very tough sets. So I'm sure you're on the right path with this Flashback Fabrics set. Absolutely stunning and popular set. Being produced during a very popular time (05/06) for hockey collectors. I actually helped a customer of mine piece together most of this set back about 6-8 years ago.

Like mentioned above. There are some extremely tough pieces to chase. I don't remember if one or both of the Gretzky pieces were limited to /9. Also, the Nolan is extremely tough. I wanna say around 10 or so copies. At the time, I think there were selling for like $800-$1000 USD. I'm sure prices have now settled. But I just felt so weird hammering out that sort of money for a Owen Nolan card As well, the Sundin was a redemption, that was never made. Went through the process with Upper Deck to see what was going on, as my customer has the Sundin redemption card as a place holder for his set. With that being said, years later the Sundin Spectrum 1/1 appeared on EBay. Tried snagging that, but someone else also had the same idea as us. And ended up with it.

Either way, please keep up posted on your progress. As stated above, it's a gorgeous set. Thanks for taking the time to share.

You've got a good memory. Now that you said it I definitely remember the Gretzky being numbered out of 9 and the Nolan going for close to a grand.

Great progress so far! This set will definitely be a challenge. There are quite a few SSP cards including Nolan, Bowman, Gretzky (All-Star), Gretzky (LA Kings), and Beliveau.

2005-06, the year the wheel (hockey card) was reinvented. SO many good designs and nice sets that year. Amazing progress so far my friend.:beer:
