Halifax Show Pickups

Hi All
As a lot of you know by reading other peoples threads I too was at the show in Halifax. As most have stated it is nice to put faces to names, I too enjoyed meating some of the guys whom I have delt with here on HI.
On to the goodies.

From Winston (winniescards) I got these.

From Kevin (Inferno) I got this nice Patch.

I got the rest from various other dealers.

I also picked up a few low end Gaborik and Stajan cards that I needed, I did not scan these.


I now have a new favorite card shop. I stoped at Strictly Singles Sportscards in Halifax after the show and picked up a couple of boxes of cards to bust when I got home. Had a great chat with the owner Mike Dean and one of the other dealers that was at the show. So here are the goods from the 2 boxes.

Only scaned 2 cards I got 6 common autos and 2 gold parallels and these 2

Nice pickups and breaks Don! I stopped in at Strictly Singles too and found the box prices to be very high even considering he had a sale going on.

Glad to know the Gaborik Artifacts patch has a good home

The place where I usualy buy my stuff is about $10.00 higher than Mike Deans regular price so I saved about $19.00 on that box. Not sure what price my usual guy charges on the SPx.

I can order a tin of Sweet Shot and have it delivered from Quebec within 2 days for $73 total, he was charging $81 for the sale with a regular price of $93. That is way too high! He was also asking $440 for a tin of The Cup on sale, I didn't want to know what his regular price was :|

Nice pickups - wish we had a show here in St. John's.

When I was at Mike's this summer I found his prices to be on par with most B&M shops I have visited. Obviously online prices are cheaper, but he has been in business for a long time, and certainly not from overcharging his customers.
