Not a very high price to pay and they have the money to sign him if he wants to stay. First rounder will probably be mid to late round pick and the minor league players weren't any of their best prospects. Shows that AZ is committed to winning this year. Thought NJ could have gotten more if they waited until Feb....

I don’t think the Avs care because I’m sure the Devils were asking for more than they’d give up. I have a feeling NJ had no good offers or takers and took what they could to unload him. Next up, Subban, who I could definitely see going to Colorado with NJ retaining a good chunk of his salary.
