Attended my second Hamilton trade day today, great to see all of the usual suspects again. I was able to complete a few deals that were arranged before hand.
Scott (Justcards) dropped in with a nice little lot of MVP goodies for me .
Several rookie cards and a nice quad jersey from 09-10. I must add that Scott gave me a hell of a deal on this lot, thanks Scottie, much appreciated.
Carey (Roli30) and I had a deal pre-arranged for so many cards but he pushed it over the top with a very generous lot of 05-06 MVP rookie cards.
Carey, you know I'll be looking for Roli, Beliveau or Habs items for you bud, thanks man.
I also completed another deal with Shawn (Spideryguy) for a nice lot of MVP inserts and rookies, thanks again for the deal Shawn.
Took part in the group break and had the dubious distinction along with Carey of being the only one's shutout, lol.
I had better luck with pack wars winning a round of 10-11 SPA, we'll come back to that shortly. I also won a round of Pinnacle as well.
Got lucky on one of the jersey rolls and came away with a Luke Schenn blue jersey, very sweet indeed for a Leafs fan.
Now, about the SPA pack wars. I had the good furtune to win a SOTT dual MYSTERY auto redemption which I have redeemed, now the wait begins to find out what I receive from the folks at UD. It could turn out to be a very nice card to say the least. I got to shoot the breeze and enjoy a coffee or two with my longest standing online buddy Mr. Connors, pleasure as always Glenn.
Thanks to Mike for a great mix of wax available and for arranging the pack wars, group break and jersey rolls.

Big thanks to Shaun for putting on another great trade day for us.
Thanks Dan.

Thanks for starting this thread bud :) it was real good to enjoy a relaxing coffee with you today.

I took part in the group break as well, and made sure to remind everyone of my luck before the team draw took place. I bought two slots, and ended up with Florida and Minnesota . I actually won two cards out of the Luxury Suite break but I couldn't tell you who they were (I would suggest below scrub level). But it was still good for a few laughs (thanks Mikey!!!!) I took part in pack wars and did even worse, so my reputation (and streak) is well ensconsed.

So with pure luck out of the way, I was able to swing quite a few deals. Sadly some didn't work out but the negotiating was fun nonetheless.

First up for the Ladd PC:

It was great to see familiar faces and shoot the breeze without the day-to-day stress of the places we call work. Thanks everyone, and especially to Shaun (spooner9ball) for being a great host!

Cheers!

Well, I would like to chime in here and say that outside of a venue, liquid, and a few prizes, I really do nothing. It is the great group of people that travel from all over that make the day. I really enjoy just standing back and watching deal after deal go down. Although we open a PILE of wax in a very short time, it really is amazing how many TRADES get done. Yes, people, TRADES. Trading is far from done; in the right setting, with the right people and the right amount of time, a lot can get done.

We had 20 ish people out today, from Toronto to Brantford. We had raffles, Jersey Die Rolls ( nice looking jerseys!!), A group break, Pack Wars, High End Pack rip watching, Sales, and as I said, LOTS of trades.

Below are scans of all my acquisitions. Many are PC cards; thanks for finally moving some lists!!!

On a potentially negative note: Gary, one of our non- HI Trade Day guys, had a Ryan N-Hopkins YG go missing. I hate to say stolen; I would hope that it just accidentally made its way into someone else's pile. It was last seen sitting out of the box, in a Magnetic case, face down on the table. Could have quite easily been scooped up as part of a trade or a million other things. Mistakes happen. If ANYONE stumbles across this card, or has a bout of conscience about obtaining this card the easy way, my address is:
Shaun Lindsay
60 Everest Street
Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
L8W 2G9.
Send it back to me with the return address left off, and I'll make sure it gets to Gary.

Now, on to the cards!!

Freebies from Mikeysleafs and goalieguy01:

Thanks again guys and gals, you were awesome.

My morning started off with meeting Ameet at his place so we could car pool. Ameet was really excited for his first trade day, I think too excited because it seemed like he forgot how to drive

It was nice to see the regulars again, I couldnt wait to do some trade talk.

First up a freebie from 27Leafs27, thanks Dan!

I had to hit Glen (BigBarracuda) up first, his box of goodies always has something I like. I was able to get these off of him for my rookie collection.

Next was a trade with Carey (Roli30) to finish out a deal we had last time.
This came back my way, cool piece of the pad, it is available.

I then looked through Shaun's stash, the Potvin Masked Men was what caught my eye at first.
To be honest not a CLUE what I gave Danny, I just like Danny!!
All PC stuff here  Thanks Shaun.

Goalieguy was next on the radar, was happy I could help out his SPx set and come away with these.
The Adam is PC - Lindback is available. Probably seems like I am a Sabres fan :foottap:

In the midst of all this wheeling and dealing, I also took part in the group break. I got 2 spots, ended up with both New York teams. The Rags and Isles.
I was just happy I didn't get shut out. Both available.
Gold /10 I kept asking who Hamonic is, but from the looks of his stats, he is having a decent season.

and this bum, cool stick piece though.

And the last deal of the day was with Ameet, I found some goodies in his monster boxes that he says "I told you about them before" Thanks for the sweet deal!

Once again big thanks to Shaun for hosting, can't wait for the next one.
Thank you to Mikey for supplying wax and coming up with a fun group break.
And of course thanks to Ameet for driving, it may have taken us twice as long to get home and almost going the wrong direction mid way back to Hamilton, but we made it home safe.

Well Shout out to Danny for pointing out my driving skills. I think it has to do with talking shop about my favorite hobby that led to my driving performance yesterday. LOLZ

I know I said it yesterday but it was a lot of fun. Def will be back for the next one if Spooner lets me in LOL

Once again Shaun, another very successful trade day. Was great to see all the "usual suspects" and some new comers. Played a great round of "HOW NOT TO WIN ANYTHING AT A GROUP BREAK", Dan [27leafs27] and I were the big non winners in that break. Bigbaracuda, sorry that you were not as sucessfull as Dan and I.
Made some nice trades.
From Dan [27leafs27] a pile of McDonalds cards towards replacing my lost McDonalds collection.
From Ryan [ry_dmack sportscards], the Beliveau auto and the PK Subban for the PC
from Danny [great8] the henri Richard auto /25, only this card may be a 1/1 error card , Richard's auto is upside down. also for the PC.

Did break 2 boxes of the new Enforcers. Once again Dr Price, you and your team have made an excellent product. I'm not a big collector of the fighters, although they do belong "in the game" [], I will defintly be collecting some of the cards for my PC. If anybody has any of the Habs autos....
