As the clock here has turned past midnight, I welcome in April 25 - my 20th birthday. Though I'm back at college now, I spent the day at home and had some family over to deliver a few gifts. The last time I had opened any boxes of hockey cards was one box of 99-00 Upper Deck Series 1 on Christmas Day of 1999.

I actually considered going in with a friend on half a box of this when it came out, but of course, I'm glad I waited! Boxes at half of their original price are much more appealing - and, it makes it easier to stomach a bad break.......

Again, nothign special here. I did get two Alexeev RCs in one pack, which I found interesting. Better than two Rycroft RCs, I suppose!

The parallels were the best part of the break - a nice rookie, and a good goalie as well. I suffered another "insult to injury" type of pull with the Vorobiev Super Rookie, shortly after pulling his base RC. As if that wasn't bad enough, though, I couldn't even pull a game-used jersey out of this box!

News and notes:
**So, perhaps this is why I haven't busted any product in 5 years. Oh well. I do think I'll go for one box, in the same price range, from now on for my birthdays or for Christmas, but certainly not two.
**I did better in ONE PACK of 03-04 BAP Memorabilia (Paul Kariya Stanley Cup Finals jersey out of 20) last fall, than in that entire box. Go figure.
**The Devils Deep In The Crease is reserved for Vic, and Wes (PenaltyMan) gets first shot at the Shanny jersey (as part of a larger deal he and I are working, hopefully, and yes Wes I found another auction to watch for it, haha). The rest is up for grabs, not that there's much for the picking.
