Has anyone here bought or sold an entire player collection?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has done this. I don't mean 25-40 cards but a collection consisting of 400 or 500+ cards which include many rare and high-end cards of that player?

I sold my hole Tomas Vokoun collection a few years ago. Sold most of them as singles and a few base/low end lots. Half of it went to one guy.

I bought a massive Patrick Roy collection from a guy in Arizona back in April of 2002 off eBay for $7,000.
Sold it off piece by piece for more than $20,000 throughout the summer.

I sold off my old Damon Stoudamire, Mike Bibby, and Michael Dickerson collections in the past. I split up my Stoudamire and Bibby collections and sold my Dickerson collection in one lot.

Thanks for the replies. I should have asked. When you did buy a collection was it for much less than what those cards would have sold individually or did you pay a premium to have everything in shot?

i have bought a few collections and have not paid a premium for it. Typically flip it quickly to make a profit.

Depends on who it is -- a great player with a bunch of tough stuff means at least a little premium.
