Hey all. Just a heads up on a real problem "wax dealer". lrcards just went out of biz under very shady circumstances. An apparent shell game where he was taking pre-orders for products and not delivering... If any of you have any pending orders from this guy, I recommend you contact your CC company or paypal, etc... Here's a link to his now closed eBay account:

I was reading about him on another board last night Mike. Sounds like the amounts involved are massive to say the least (that board had buyers out to the tune of $50K come forward so far). Hopefully most people payed with their CC and will be covered.

D, From what I hear that is just the tip of the iceberg. I hear he may owe distributors in the hundreds of thousands, perhaps more. The guy may be a hobby equivalent of Madoff!

Wow, surprising seeing his feedback, no negs in past 12 months and over 8000 feedback. I guess you need that kinda of "trust" to pull off a huge scam. Just another reason to frequent a local hobby shop. These eBay/Internet guys can be gone just like that!

Wow, if that's true then the proper authorities should be involved, as that sounds like the higher end of fraud, which is not something one sees in the card business to often.
Hopefully everyone gets most of their money back!

Heard of the same sort of thing on a NASCAR board I frequent. A user there was taking pre -orders on boxes and cases of NASCAR product, then when it came time to shiop after release says he got skids full of FOOTBALL then disapeared. After the cops and his mother got involved though it seemed to start working its way to the good again. No one got the product but did get their money back.

That's really too bad to hear. Larry used to be a really good dealer. If he is infact taking people for that much money, people need to start stepping up and notifying the authorities. This ain't a $5 card we're talking about here.

See, if you purchased from your local hobby shop and he pulled this, you could just march down there and beat the crap out of him.

If the distributors let him get in that deep it's their own fault. I do accounting for a wholesale distributor, you can smell these things coming a mile away.

That is true but I think it was so spread out between several different distributors and retail customers by the time anyone caught wind of anything it was too late....

Mike someone had posted on him a week or so ago too here that they had been taken :(

Stuff like this just makes ya mad!

Just to be clear, I did not lose any $$$ on this dude. I was just giving folks a "heads up" in case they had purchased anything...

It's funny that you pick Madoff as a comparison. Madoff could have run an honest fund, and still gone broke without going to jail - and the comparison holds here too. ;)

This was posted on another forum, hopefully it is ok to post here:
Here's some info from a blast mail on Dealernet:

"Anyone who is owed any money, or knows anyone who is owed any money from Larry Rosselli, LR Cards, please contact Detective Nace with the Ulster County Sherrif's Department in New York. Detective Nace's phone number is (845) 340-3958 or (845) 332-0077 , and you can email him at [email protected] . Larry Rosselli apparently owes between $100,000 - $200,000 to individuals and possibly more than that to various card companies and/or distributors. The detective has already received numerous complaints about Larry and is in the process of gathering information. Detective has spoken to Mr. Rosselli, who claimed he is having financial trouble and will probably file for bankruptcy. Mr. Rosselli has already retained counsel and any further questions through anyone are supposed to go through his lawyer. The detective has advissed no one to accept "partial refunds" or the criminal case turns civil."
